Last drill really motivated me
As you guys may or may not know, I am in the Sea Cadets to train and learn for when I enlist into the United States Navy. Last drill we had a PT test which consisted of a one mine run, push ups, sit ups, sit and reach and a shuttle run (a 30ft sprint). Up first was the mile run, which was 7 laps around our lovely base. I made it 3 laps before getting light headed. Absolutely acceptable. Although I did not eat chow (lunch) before PT, I know the whole 7 laps still would've been a struggle. Next was the sit and reach, I stretched 9 inches, which is passing but I still need to improve. Next was push ups. I did 20 push ups in one minute which for my body's standards, is unacceptable. I really need to get up to AT LEAST 50-60. Next was sit ups. I knew I needed to push myself Hard, I did 46 sit ups in one minute. That isn't great for what I know I can do, but I pushed myself. Next was the shuttle run. I knew that sprinting wasn't always my strong suit but after redoing it 3 times I ended with a 5.4 second sprint. These resulted opened my eyes and will soon awaken my body. Get ready for running sprinting, and intense exercise. Better results are soon to come.
