Queer Blood Excerpt

After meeting Alex, I just felt more relaxed with myself and I also felt more magical. There she was all punk-goth in a Kill Bill shirt and heavy eye-liner, ready to absolve me of depressive grief through letting me know places that death and death itself are a beauty on another level. She was like the character Death in the Sandman comics…the girl looked exactly like this character and even showed up in a cemetery…it felt strange. Alex’s glory was forever to me. When I met her I felt like my blood had shed for the first time in my body and it didn’t hurt. That blood shed of opening up to her with my grief…it actually felt blissful. She was no Xena Warrior Princess, but she was definitely her own person and I liked that.

Queer Blood

I may as well just post excerpts from my book I am working on if I don’t get any submissions anymore because my book is chock full of how I became a happy homo. Enjoy an excerpt below.

“Well Riverside Pride is a go, so you all have the option to volunteer. We will have a table for our youth group set up that some of you will run. Others can sign up to be security or helping with decorations. Of course everyone’s admission as volunteers are free.” “So who is sponsoring us this year?” Katie asked. “Well it is going to be ‘Slip’N’Slide lube’ and ‘Concrete Condoms’” Debra stated. “Oh ‘Slip’N’Slide lube’ is the best!” Anthony choked out. “I really do love ‘Concrete Condoms’ as well. Nothing gets past that brand.” Tristan says with a smirk. I make a puzzled face as the words he has said register in my mind. I let out a light chuckle “Ha!”

My Submission

I had a happy queer moment while living in Chicago. I spent last year serving for City Year and one of my students came out to me as being fluid in her sexuality. I felt absolutely privileged and special that she trusted me enough to tell me and that she wanted advice.
