One of the reasons why I am so proud of it and happy when I see blooms open up is because a year ago I thought this plant was a goner. I had the most infected plant in the entire world!!!! Well maybe that’s a little bit melodramatic. But, it was pretty bad. It was infected with mealybugs at first and then after I cleaned that all off, I started seeing a lot of bugs that looked like centipedes. I had to cut 3- 4 branches that were so badly damaged from the infection in the summer. I decided to not do it until the summertime because I was already putting the plant through so much by trying to get rid of all the bugs.

I think the moral of the story is that there will be a time when you will own a plant that will have some sort of bug infection. It just comes with the territory of owning plants. It probably won’t be as bad as this plant was the first time I got it. As long as you are patient and you go through all the steps then you will be fine. Plants are a lot stronger than you think. Sometimes, all you need is rubbing alcohol, neem oil or some type of pesticide and it was go away in 2 weeks if continuously done but sometimes it will take months. So in conclusion, don’t give up and hang in there. One day your plant will surprise you after you’ve fix it, just like this one did for me. :) :) :) :)
