The term "Armageddon" is derived from the Hebrew "Har Megiddo," which means "Mount of Megiddo." Megiddo is an ancient city located in northern Israel, and the surrounding region has been the site of numerous battles throughout history. Leading up to the Battle of Armageddon, there will be a series of judgments and events that shake the world, including the appearance of the Antichrist, who will establish a global rule and demand worship (Revelation 13). Many will follow and worship him, but those who refuse will face persecution.
