So I was rereading Carry On and I came upon this scene...

And this scene made me realise what Simon had to go through when he lost his magic. Here he was talking about loving magic like no one else does and then in the second book Wayward Son we see him really lose his magic and how it affected him.

This scene just hit me when I read it again after reading Wayward Son. He had known what it was to live without it but to go through the same struggles again was just too much for Simon. I know he had Baz and Penny with him to support him , but how much pain it caused Simon I just cannot imagine.
