I found the whole Blue Angel "help" pointless as I thought it was going to be a tag duel and she would save our "hero's" ass. But honestly all she did was stop the guard thing from stealing his duel disk and then he won EASILY without her help. Can Yoshida write a protag that isn't in control of everything. Hell him losing his hand made things better for him as he summoned nearly all those monsters he discarded in one turn.
playmaker’s strategy has been pretty damn the same so far but that’s as the saying goes: disappointed but unsurprised. as for blue angel’s help,... yeah i dont see the point cuz like... thinking about this whole situation even BEYOND itself, like... with or without her, yoshida would have written it so that playmaker would have won. that’s just the nature of the set up of that duel. there’s no way in hell that playmaker, the main fucking character, is gonna lose to AI. not even in Vra/i//n ///s aka the show focused on the “importance” of AI. there’s just.. no. fucking. way. so what i dont get is... this duel was... predictable, ofc... so... please... don’t tell me nobody saw this outcome coming? i feel more the point of this episode was to try to establish another bond/connection/camaraderie between yusaku & blue angel, but yoshida is just... abysmal at writing that kind of thing like... yusaku wasn’t even paying attention to her during the duel? holy fucking shit... this is laughable honestly.
listen, so far overall it’s been fairly standard of a show. very basic. very formulaic. i’m ngl the show isn’t TERRIBLE but i’ve stopped expecting anything outstanding out of it. unfortunately after an amazing 3 years, it sucks to remind ourselves that we’re back in yoshida territory and this is just life now. 🙃 thanks, komoney.
