Hardscum, please check your messages, there's a fairly urgent one! :)
hardscum reblogged your photoset: taralikesyourface: Did someone say park? ...
those wide-set eyes are killing me
molly's face was a little more triangular than that but the expression is the same and it breaks my heart ;_;

scum just wanna have fu-un
oh scum just wanna have ... fun
Also:
Ex-hets and ex-bis do not have any place deciding who can and cannot claim the term "lesbian."
It's not "every woman who has touched peen is not a lesbian, she's just a deluded appropriator ... except me, I'm special, I was gay all along!" Because that's just way too convenient and way too self-righteous.
If these distinctions need to be made (which I can understand, in many ways), let's leave the gatekeeping up to the lifelong lesbians who have never touched peen.
Thank you,
- an "ex-bi"
PS:
Hardscum is a made-up Tumblr word that most emotionally balanced people do not take seriously.
I think it's a play off the other favorite Tumblrisms: "Hard Femme" and "Radscum."
What we (hardscum) are saying is:
women are all oppressed by patriarchy.
Telling lesbians that they aren't really that oppressed because mommies (or bisexuals, or genderqueers, or trans women, etc) are Moar Oppressed is not helping. Human beings who are born biologically female are all oppressed by virtue of the fact that females are all oppressed under patriarchy. We may be oppressed to differing degrees, but we are all oppressed.
That being said, some women are oppressed on other vectors as well. For example, women who are not white experience racial oppression. Women who are lesbians and women who otherwise fail to meet the societal standards of "femininity" experience homophobia (which is arguably a facet of misogyny, but concentrated in the case of lesbians and gender role nonconformists, doled out extra strength if one is a gender role nonconforming lesbian). Women who live below the poverty level experience class oppression. And so on.
But that doesn't mean we are not all oppressed by virtue of being female. It is not up to anyone (especially not on Tumblr) to argue and split hairs over who is Mostest Oppressedest. Especially if the hair-splitters come from a position of relative privilege themselves.
(Note that I say "relative privilege." I do not say "female privilege" because female privilege does not exist.)
NEW BLOG
I made a new blog, isepalase, for hardscum misandry. I'll be using this one for less-hardscum stuff, like catpix and music stuff.
