This is for @saddleupanyway who asked for tips on learning to do toe work in hardshoes.
First, it’s important to start with a stable foundation. You should get very comfortable with calf raises before you start toe work so that you practice engaging all of the muscles, from your calves up to your quads, glutes, and core. These will keep you from wobbling when you’re up on pointe.
Next, make sure your shoes are broken in by bending them right below the tip. If your shoes aren’t working with you, you’ll never be able to get up and feel stable!
Finally, practice pulling up slowly and with control in your hardshoes. Use the same muscles you engaged for your calf raises in order to pull up to a toe stand in your hard shoes. Once you practice how to engage these muscles, toe work will be much easier and you can move on to incorporating toes in your steps.
So sorry for the delay, but I hope this is helpful and please ask if you have any other questions! Happy practicing!
