Harisiddhi Temple: Around 8 KM south of Kathmandu, in the heart of the village of Harisiddhi lies this temple, where the first mask dance of the country takes place. Believed to have been brought to Nepal and set up somewhere in Kantipur by Indian emperor Bikramaditya, the founder of Bikram Sambat, Goddess Harisiddhi was transferred to Harisiddhi village during Licchavi period and the present temple was built during the rule of Malla kings. The 2072 earthquake destroyed most part of the village, while the temple still stands high.
