“STOP BEING SO CUTE, IT’S NOT FAIR!” Roman shouted. “It’s hard to be mad at you like this! Stop it!”
Janus raised an eyebrow amused, “I am literally just sitting here, listening to you yell at me for pointless reasons.”
“Pointless! Did you hear anything I said, Jan?”
Janus’ rolled his eyes. “I did. You speak rather loudly, dearest.”
Roman’s gaze hardened as he crossed his arms, “Then what is this conversation even about?”
“You were ranting at me about one of your coworkers who was taking advantage of your kindness, which then turned into you yelling at me because you did not think I’m listening- which isn’t true. Unlike you I have the ability to multitask. And then you stopped everything to call me cute.”
“It’s not just that...”
Janus gave a sigh as he closed his laptop, “I’m not stupid Roman, I can tell when something is bothering you. What else is going on?”
“Do you really not know?” Roman asked in disbelief.
“Know..?”
“What today is?”
“You mean our anniversary? I’m aware.”
“But you didn’t- you didn’t say anything or do-”
“It’s called a surprise Roman,” Janus said as he smiled. “So if you’re done yelling at me about the horrors of work and how cute I am-”
“Please forget that ever happened.”
“No. Then you can go get changed and we can head out.”
“Where are we going?”
“Do you know the definition of the word surprise?”
“But I need to know what to wear.”
Janus gave a slight sigh, but there was a smile on his face, “What if I pick an outfit and you base it off of that?”
“Deal.” Roman nodded, moving towards their bedroom but he hesitated after only taking a step. “And um... I’m sorry I yelled at you.”
Janus smiled as he stood and pulled Roman into a hug, “I don’t mind, love. More than anything I’m more surprised that you’d think I wouldn’t remember making the best decision of my life.”
“Marrying me?” Roman asked, looping his arms around Janus’ neck.
“I was actually going to say eating three pieces of that cake but yes you were a bonus too.”
“I hate you,” Roman declared despite his laughter.
Janus pressed a soft kiss to his husband’s lips, “I love you too.”
