Sakura Steam [AU Roleplay] [Misty and N]
"More sake please!" Misty sighed as she reclined back against a cushion. Sighing, she sipped on the slim, flat sake cup, relishing in the sharp, hot taste. It warmed her belly, a pleasant thing on such a cold day. It was rare for her to relax, but when she did it tended to be with a nice cup (bottle) of the delicious, rice wine. "Thank you," Misty said, waving the maid away after she left the bottle. The silk screen slid to Misty's room close, sealing Misty off from the rest of the rowdy teahouse. Misty sighed once more, content to spend the remainder of her day here. After her latest mission abroad in the land of France, she'd been exhausted. Now, she lay about a private room, kimono top undone to reveal a series of tightly wrapped black colored bandages. She slid off her hard soled sandals and tabu socks, and undid her obi, revealing a set of thick, black, close fitting leggings.
Polishing off the last of the bottle, Misty turned her attention to the sky outside. A murky purple-blue, the sky was active, filled with various steam contraptions hovering about the clouds and the city of Sakura, one of the newest government constructed, steam-powered cities. Red-orange Sakura-petal smoke colored the window, smudging the glass panes as black smoke exited brass and copper pipes from the flying contraptions, further discoloring the sky. France wasn't at all like this, Misty thought. It was clean and so peaceful. None of this warring like Japan. Misty set the sake cup back down, her high spirits dampened. Although she was European and Japanese, she'd readily sworn her allegiance to Japan. Working as a female mercenary, she'd traveled every inch of Japan, righting wrongs and putting rogue samurai in their place with both sword and Pokemon. Her abilities with Water-oriented Pokemon had earned her the title of Onna-Bugeisha. As one a few ordained female samurai, she'd been tasked with her recent trip abroad as a diplomat, which she had thoroughly enjoyed. France had been wonderful, but it made her long dearly for her chosen home of Japan.
Yet returning back to the smelly city of Kyoto had been difficult for her, as she knew she'd soon be back to working for the government. These wars are foolish, Misty thought. They've gained nothing but sorrow, famine, and wives without husbands and children. She spat, anger bubbling up in her gut. "Why, if I were Shogun, I'd-"
Knock, knock.
Misty was shaken from her thoughts. "Come in!"
