(so, this is the beginning of what was going to be a childhood friends to best friends to lovers sorta thing! thank you for the ask)

At nine, she tells him she’ll marry him. 

He’s older than her, all of twelve, and he does nothing but grin at her innocent proposal. It’s the first time she notices how weirdly blue his eyes are - like the ocean, she thinks. The deep, deepest part of the ocean.

“That’s a big promise to make,” he says and she can’t understand why he seems to find it so funny. “Shouldn’t make promises you don’t plan on keepin’, you know.”

Her face contorts into a frown, quietly wondering who told him she couldn’t keep promises. “I always keep my promises.”

This particular promise came from her talent for listening at doors she shouldn’t be at, hearing her mother tutting about how Gendry’s father refused to marry his mother. Obviously that was why Gendry got so grumpy when anyone asked about his father.

But he only laughs, and she still doesn’t really get the joke, but her brothers are back, with Theon in tow as always, over excitedly shouting in that annoying way all boys seem to do. Robb tells Gendry that they found his old bike in the shed so Gendry can have that one and they can go now, and just like that, they’re going.

He ruffles her hair as he stands up to follow, and she smacks him on the arm.

I LOVED writing these omg. i probably could think of so much more but my mind is always stunted in moments like these.

cersei for the character thing!

How I Feel About the Character: Cersei does some absolutely horrible things, and I don’t like her exactly, but I think she is an amazing and fascinating character! So I don’t really like her, but I so appreciate her as a character 

Who I Ship With the Character: Aurane Waters... go get that knockoff Rhaegar, Cers!

My Non-Romantic OTP for the Character: this would be easier if Cersei would just stop isolating herself! Before the ‘Myrish swamp’ incident, I was excited that Cersei had found a friend in Taena Merryweather, even though she’s probably a Tyrell spy

My Unpopular Opinion About the Character: I know a lot of book-readers laugh about how smart the showrunners made Cersei, but I really don’t think she’s stupid. She makes extremely bad decisions (arming the Faith, continually alienating the Tyrells), but I think she is traumatized and terrified. This doesn’t excuse the awful things she’s done, but it gives us a good lens with which to view them. Cersei loves her children, and she loves power, but more than anything, she’s terrified of losing either. In my opinion, she’s driven by fear more than anything. 

One Thing I Want to Happen/Wish Had Happened: I’m gonna cheat and do both here

what I wish had happened: I really, really wish that she hadn’t given Falyse Stokeworth to Qyburn. I know it’s probably not even in the ten worst things she’s done, but it really struck me. I had to put the books down for several days. That one throwaway line about how Falyse is still alive, but not in any state to govern or even feed herself makes me feel sick every time I think about it.... poor Falyse :(

what I want to happen: I know Cersei’s gonna die, probably during the much-awaited burn of King’s Landing. I really don’t want her to be reduced to a crying little girl. I want her to double down on her (absolutely wrong) convictions, to go out clawing and screaming and most of all strong. She’s done some absolutely unspeakable things, but I think poor old Cers deserves at least that much

when i got her fixed as a kitten, the vet told us she was still under enough sedatives that she wouldn't be jumping or running enough to disturb her stitches. she immediately jumped up on the fridge.

a few nights later i came home from a late night at work to find her methodically eating, yes eating, her stitches. the emergency vet told me to put hot sauce on the stitches (i was so panicked i did it) and she went right back at it, apparently thrilled that i'd given her hot sauce to go with her forbidden meal.

she sits on the toilet whenever she's out of water. she's ten pounds but still manages to make leaps my younger cat isn't capable of. where's lily? probably in the dryer someone left open a crack.

also i'm pretty sure she only has one nipple.

she used to be able to turn doorknobs but my landlord forced me to get her declawed :( so she can't open doors anymore.

she WILL bat food directly out of your mouth. she used to paw books off the bottom shelf of my bookshelf and fucking eat the pages. if i'm sleeping and she's out of food she'll get my hair in her teeth and pull until it hurts badly enough for me to get up at five thirty and feed her.

when i put water in her bowl she dips a paw in and licks it off her paw. then she pushes the bowl around until she's spilled it all over the floor.

can do no wrong!! i know she wore like, ‘questionable outfits’ in the past (im thinking of that black dress in the sag awards) but honestly i really love that she chooses to dress very avant garde and her outfit choices are always unexpected and surprising. i know she was a model before and that her boyfriend is a designer, and it’s so very easy to dress in the standard dress and heels that you expect, but i love how she chooses NOT to do that and go for something else entirely. like you can tell she appreciates fashion and all of it’s facets in the way that she dresses, and drawing brienne in the outfits that she has worn is always a treat bc it’s always so new and different !
