Okay but can you imagine if after Love Hurts, Karrin and Harry got together? Can you imagine how different CHANGES would be? OR Ghost Story? OR THEIR REUNION IN COLD DAYS?
This popped into my head while I was trying to work on other Dresden fics so now I bestow this what if upon thee
Is that something you'd like to read? Like an anthology of select scenes from this AU? Mayhaps?
I would absolutely LOVE someone to make like an anthology-style collection of What If but for their relationship. Each ficlet would handle a different aspect of what would change if they hooked up at certain points in the series, so it wouldn't have to be the whole timeline, but just checking points where it changes the story.
And there REALLY are so many points where they could have hooked up, regardless of how much they protest it's a bad idea.
Storm Front, Summer Knight, Blood Rites, Proven Guilty, Turn Coat are the points where I feel like realistically, they could've gotten together, but each one would be handled differently. Hell, just think of how the timeline would change if Murphy never got with Kincaid, for instance. What if Harry recognized the crush BEFORE Kincaid hits on her and acted on it? What if Harry is with Murphy in Storm Front and never gets with Susan at all? All valid fun questions!
So yeah, great idea. I've played with it a few times myself, but it'd be very cool to have them all in one spot examining all the effects of them getting together far sooner than they did in the (OOC-ass) canon.
