My Acting Career and how it has shaped me..
Beginning my acting career at the age of 12 was natural; I always loved being in front of the camera. I started making YouTube videos when I was 8, and started my current channel xTurnipTimex when I was just turning 13. I have had multiple "hit" videos, with a total of over 1 million views across my 100+ videos.
My most viewed video is a comedic rap that I wrote, produced, and filmed, with a character I made up named Corndog Cheesefingers...
Corndog has since gone on to be in more music videos on my channel, gaining thousands of views with every video including..
Gamerface: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YS-TkQLwNcw
School: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2n5xkLx7zk
and most recently, Sports: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZBKrsxdZC4
With characters like Corndog, and by just being myself, I was going to auditions in Vancouver for film & tv when I booked my first role in "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", specifically as the famous 'The Cheese Touch' kid, Darren Walsh.
So, as my acting career continued from here on, I ended up booking a role as a host of my own science kids series called "Finding Stuff Out", this gave me a ton of experience with life in general, acting, as well, it allowed me to do some things people don't get to do in their lifetime.
Including, living in Montreal, and with travelling Canada, it also includes flying on a lot of planes..
A LOT.
Some of things include but are not limited to, travelling Canada, and talking to amazing experts. This has allowed me to do things like, visit the Canadian Space Agency, drive a Ferrari, visit the Vancouver aquarium after and before hours, go to the Calgary zoo, explore the Horne Lake caves, talk to amazing people and real life experts, ride in a hot air balloon at North Americas biggest balloon festival, and even set off 10,000 tons of TNT. It's insane, and season 3 will be starting to air on TVO soon.
Now, with Finding Stuff Out in my trail, I am working on a new YTV Sitcom, "Some Assembly Required"
I have been filming in studio since August and it has been an amazing experience that really pushes your acting abilities. It really, already has helped me understand sitcom comedy in many ways. I love working on Some Assembly, and the people I have met on the set are awesome. This video is just one look into the life-time friends I have made, and my joy of performing and entertaining. This is a video of my co-star, Charlie and I performing a mashup we put together and performed at a live taping on a Friday night.
Season 1 is starting to wind down as you read this post, there are only 3 weeks of filming left and only five episodes have aired of the show so far. I really can't wait to hear about a season 2 of the show, and continue this amazing project in Vancouver. (Feb/07/14)
My acting career has already begun to shape my life, allowing me to travel my country, meet so many amazing people and have life experiences, as well as allowing me to move to a big city, Vancouver!
Not only that, but it has taught me that hard work pays off, and that you can achieve your goals if one puts enough effort into them.
