I think we blew the show...(pt1)

"SENSEI LLOYD!" Arin called out from the monastery game room.

"Did the tv break?" Arin muttered to himself. Lloyd and Zane came quickly shortly.

"Is there any need for assistance, Arin?" Zane asked the confused gaming boy. Arin looked up at Lloyd,

"Its an alert..." looking to his sensei and back to the tv,

"Should I read it?" Arin raised and eyebrow, looking back at Lloyd who didn't reply but eyes glued to the screen making an awkward silence for a while.

"Ok...iamma just...read it." Arin says slowly looking back at the tv.

"Report...a report saying a person saw an old ninjago villain at the crossroads fair...huh? Weird. Why there? That place is filled with performances, food stalls, the pie competition- THE PIE COMPATITION? NO. I COMPLETLY FORGOT ABOUT THAT!"

Zane then slowly looks to Arin deadpan.

"Right...Sorry." Arin said awkwardly.

"But Arin is logically correct...Why would a past villain want to be there when they can cause more mischief somewhere else? And who could it possibly be...?" Zane said rubbing his chin.

Lloyd finally looked up at them finally speaking." "If its pythor singing the 'sweet home allabama' imma crash out." His expression deadass like he just saw a man asking why people were eating. In a cafeteria

"Oh hey. You finally spoke." Nya said leaning on the door frame making the two-dumbasses (plus one Einstein) jump.

"Nya! Oh hey." Arin said calming down. "What happened?" Nya said walking towards them and finally looking at the alert also noticing the game in the background. "Hey. Isn't that jay's video game he just bought today?" Arin's eye's widen. "No!" He said quickly.

"The alert seems to be saying how a few people reported seeing a past villain performing at the crossroads." Zane said scanning the screen.

"Like what? Pythor singing 'the sweet home alabama?'" Nya asked rolling her eyes.

"Thats what I said!" Lloyd yelled yet again.

"I have scanned the alert. Mentioning the people saw the past villain 'performing'. So it would be more logical if we just search up the lists of the people performing at the crossroads." Zane said already searching online with every one agreeing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Later that night) Everyone was gathered around the table in the middle on the secret base. Such as: Lloyd, Nya, Kai, Jay, Cole(who was munching on cake), Zane, Arin, Sora and Wyldfyre.

"Ok...so why is this such a big deal, exactly?" Kai says looking at the alert from the big screen.

"It could be dangerous, Kai. Who knows who ever this could be? Aspheera, Mr. E...Garmadon...? Maybe even-"

"If your gonna say 'Harumi' then theres no need." Lloyd said. Cutting off zane.

"Iam just saying, Lloyd. Ah yes. I have searched up the list of performers that are going to be performing at the crossroads." Zane said projecting the list from his eyes making everyone lean in forward.

The ninjas read the list with a silence behind them. Right before wyldfyre broke it. "Sabrina Carpenter? Who the heck is that?" Making all the ninjas heads turn to her. "What? It's a valid question?"

Cole finished munching his chocolate cake "I don't know...but if you ask me there are no suspicious names on this..."

"I still think we should go and investigate. You know how singers can magically change their name. Like...Doja cat. Or...Lady gaga. You know what I mean?" Jay said raising an eyebrow.

"Jay's right. For once..." Kai muttered to him self making Jay yell "Hey!".

"So we go and investigate tonight." Lloyd said. And everyone nodding and locking in.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Later that night.)

Nya and Lloyd where dressed as casual people. Making sure they don't stand out in the crowed but blend in. Jay and Kai were looking around looking for anyone suspicious. Zane and Sora were close backstage waiting to sabotage if things get out of hands. Arin was on a building closest to the crossroads to see the whole thing.

"Who's performing first again?" Arin asked through his communicator.

"It says here 'Sabrina Carpenter'. As she's headlining." Zane says

"Headlining? Woah. She must be popular then." Sora said to zane and a grin on her face.

Lloyd with Nya looking around for anything suspicious. "Who do you think this 'Sabrina Carpenter' is?" Nya aks.

"I don't know...but i've never heard of her. But her name sounds...identical to...something..." Lloyd says. Slowly.

As they all wait for something to happen the lights suddenly dim and a girl appears on stage...green jade heart cropped top. Shiny and glimmery, dark green skirt with heart silver chains hanging and a cheer leading green highlighted jacked hanging on her elbow. She had a white mic with a flower print on it. The same one that used to be on Harumi's shirt when Lloyd and Harumi went giving food to the poor. The girls hair was bouncy, curled. And...white. Her face was a face Lloyd would always remember. The gray eyes. Wide smile and blushed cheeks.

"Harumi..."

I AM BACK. YAY. ------------------------------------------------------------------

The applause was still echoing when the band didn't stop. The drummer tapped his sticks together. Once. Twice. Then- A darker chord. Heavier. The lights shifted from dreamy pinks to sharp silver and emerald, cutting shadows across the stage like broken glass. Harumi didn't smile this time. She didn't even look at the crowd. She looked at Lloyd. And she sang. "One year, ten thousand bad moments..." Her voice wasn't soft now. It was steady. Grounded. No glitter. "But it was dressed up in heated emotion..." The crowd swayed, unaware of the knife hidden inside the melody. Lloyd felt every word land. "I tried to look for the best in the worst..." Nya slowly lowered her arms. "...but, like, fuck me, that caused a commotion." The line hit harder than the bass. Kai muttered through the comms, "Oh. Oh this is not a love song." Jay whispered, "This is a villain origin story in 4/4 time." Zane's tone was quieter than usual. "Emotional transparency detected." Harumi stepped forward, boots clicking against the stage floor. "You're lucky I'm a private person..." Her gaze didn't waver from Lloyd. "I've quietly carried your burden..." Lloyd's throat tightened. Everyone thinks you're an angel... A flicker of pain crossed her face. "But, shit, I would probably use different wordin'." The crowd cheered, thinking it was sass. It wasn't. It was history. "Oh, you're so vicious..." The chorus exploded-not loud, but sharp. "Love me, then pretend you didn't..." Lloyd physically flinched. Nya's eyes flicked to him. "Crush my heart and wreck my image..." Harumi's voice cracked-just slightly. "Why you gotta be so vicious?" The word vicious echoed over the fairgrounds. Arin whispered from the rooftop, "Sensei... is she talking about you?" Lloyd didn't answer. Because the terrifying part? She wasn't completely wrong. "You like a certain type of woman..." Harumi paced now, restless energy in her steps. "Who's smart but neglects intuition..." Nya stiffened at that. "When you're insecure, could be me, could be her..." Her eyes slid briefly across the crowd. "You just run to whoever is winnin'..." Kai winced. "Okay that one hurt and it wasn't even aimed at me." "Said that it was me and you for life..." Harumi's voice softened dangerously. "Now you're kinda actin' like I died." Silence pulsed between beats. Lloyd's chest felt like it had collapsed inward. "Oh, you're so vicious..." This time the chorus wasn't angry. It was wounded. "Love me, then pretend you didn't..." Her voice trembled-not weak, but real. "Half of me just can't resist it..." And there it was. The crack in the armor. "Why you gotta be so vicious?" Nya exhaled slowly. "She's not attacking you," she muttered. "She's... hurt." Lloyd swallowed. "I know." Onstage, Harumi closed her eyes for a split second before finishing the bridge. "You don't feel remorse, you don't feel the effects..." Her voice lowered, more intimate. "'Cause you don't think you hurt me if you wish me the best..." Lloyd remembered every time he told her he hoped she'd "find peace." The irony made his stomach twist. "I should have known all along..." The music softened behind her. "I was only the next one..." She opened her eyes again. "To take your love songs as a promise." The line hovered in the night air like something fragile. Final chorus. "Oh, you're so vicious..." The crowd screamed the word back at her, loving the drama. "I loved you but I wish I didn't..." Lloyd's vision blurred slightly. "If you're out there somewhere, listenin'..." She stepped to the very edge of the stage. Close enough. Why you gotta be so vicious? The last note rang out. The band cut. The lights dimmed. And the entire Crossroads exploded in applause. Harumi stood there breathing hard, chest rising and falling. For a split second- Just one- The superstar mask dropped. And Lloyd saw her. Not the villain. Not the performer. Just Harumi. The girl who once brought food to the poor in a simple white shirt with a flower stitched into it.

So I look feel bad half of yall don't know what Harumi looks like in my sabrina carpenter AU so I drew her, her outfits and her mic for yalll💜 Also I kinda dark skined her bc idk what skin color she has💜

Her outfits: Act one is what she's wearing right now in the first few chapters, and act two will be soon.

Her mic: Her mic has the same flower that was on the shirt she wore underneath the outfit she wore when feeding the poor and on her royal dress. And a small heart.

And her: I lowk do not know what skin colour she has, but I think she would have pale skin, but it got tanned when filming the Espresso music video or smt idk.

Harumi didn't leave.

She stood there, breathing in the aftermath, emerald lights glinting against her white hair. The band shifted into something softer-almost playful at first-but laced with something dangerously self-aware.

A piano line trickled in.

Gentle.

Mocking.

She gave a tiny huff of a laugh into the mic.

"We were never in the park..."

The tone changed immediately-sarcastic, too bright.

"Talking on a see-saw, teetering with our feelings in the dark..."

Lloyd's breath caught.

The imagery hit too close. Too specific.

"Ignoring tornado warnings..."

Nya slowly turned her head toward him. "Okay, that's metaphorical, right?"

He didn't answer.

"He didn't hold me in his arms..."

Her voice softened just a fraction.

"We didn't stumble over the pages of our relationship arc..."

The band swelled slightly.

"Ignoring tornado warnings..."

The crowd swayed. Some couples laughed like it was just a clever lyric.

Lloyd felt like the tornado had already passed through him.

"Don't understand how quickly we get..."

Her eyes found him again.

"Right back in our rhythm without missing a step..."

And that was the problem, wasn't it?

Even now-after everything-the rhythm was still there.

"And logically the last thing I should have on my mind..."

She tilted her head slightly.

"But I want you there sometimes."

Silence stretched between them in the noise.

Backstage, Sora pressed her hand to her chest. "That's not villain energy."

Zane replied quietly, "No. It is unresolved attachment."

Harumi began pacing again, this time slower.

"I guess maybe that's why I'm lying to my therapist..."

The crowd laughed lightly at the relatability.

Lloyd did not.

"I keep saying things like, 'I never saw him and we never kissed'..."

His heart stuttered.

Nya inhaled sharply but didn't interrupt.

"Now I think somehow in my mind..."

Harumi's voice dipped softer.

"If I could convince him, if he doesn't see it, then maybe it doesn't exist..."

Lloyd felt that one land.

Because wasn't that what he'd done too?

Pretend it was easier if it was erased?

"I think he's onto me every time I say, 'I'm over that son of a bitch'..."

The crowd cheered at the boldness.

Harumi didn't smile.

"I'm lying to my therapist."

The words hung heavy, honest.

She ran a hand through her hair, breaking character entirely for a split second.

"I deserve an hour in a week to focus on my thoughts..."

Her voice steadied, almost resolute now.

"Not so obsessed with yours I can't hear myself speak..."

Nya's expression softened.

"I deserve my own consideration..."

Harumi's jaw tightened.

"Sometimes, I wish I kept some of my feelings in the basement so I'd still have some left."

Lloyd's chest tightened painfully.

That one hurt.

"Don't understand how quickly we get right back in our rhythm without missing a step..."

The music swelled again.

"And logically the last thing I should have on my mind..."

She stepped closer to the edge of the stage.

"But I want you there sometimes."

Lloyd swallowed.

He wanted to deny it.

But the rhythm was still there.

"I'll drive you home, you drive me crazy..."

Her tone turned almost teasing now.

"But that's not gonna stop me..."

The crowd laughed again, thinking it was just a playful line.

"I'll call you out, you call me 'baby'..."

The word baby cut straight through him.

"But that's not gonna stop me..."

Her gaze didn't waver.

"From lying to my therapist..."

The chorus repeated, fuller now, louder-confessional wrapped in glitter and stage lights.

"I keep saying things like, 'I never saw him and we never kissed'..."

Lloyd's fingers curled into fists at his sides.

"If I could convince him, if he doesn't see it, then maybe it doesn't exist..."

"I think he's onto me every time I say, 'I'm over that son of a bitch'..."

Her voice cracked just barely.

The final note faded gently instead of exploding.

The band softened.

The crowd roared.

Harumi lowered the mic slowly.

This time, when she looked at Lloyd-

There wasn't anger.

There wasn't mockery.

There wasn't even accusation.

Just something dangerously human.

Nya leaned toward him, voice low.

"So... you gonna keep pretending this doesn't exist?"

Lloyd didn't blink.

The silence after "...hi, Lloyd." didn't last.

It cracked.

The lights shifted, softer now, cooler. The pink haze bled into something sharper, neon blues and restless greens. The band rolled straight into the next track, a heartbeat-thick bassline pulsing through the Crossroads like it had something to confess and nowhere private to say it.

Harumi didn't wait for cheers.

She let them hang.

Then she sang. "Made it clear when you told me. Don't know why but you gotta be lonely..."

Her voice wasn't playful this time. It was steadier. Quieter. The kind of calm that comes after a storm has already broken the windows.

Lloyd felt it in his ribs.

Nya crossed her arms so hard it looked like she was holding herself together. "She's not flirting anymore," she muttered. "She's calling you out."

Lloyd didn't answer. He couldn't. Harumi had stopped pacing the stage and planted herself dead center, one hand around the mic, the other loose at her side like she didn't need choreography anymore.

"Say it's hard but you make it look easy So I'm trying to live in reality..."

Her eyes flicked back to him. Not dramatic. Not accusatory. Just honest in a way that made his stomach drop.

Zane's voice slipped into the comms, lower than before. "This song appears to be... an emotional boundary dispute."

Jay whispered, "WHY IS IT A BOP THOUGH."

Kai: "I hate that I'm vibing."

Onstage, Harumi exhaled into the mic, shoulders rising, falling.

"Decompressing Tryna ease the tension..."

She rolled the word tension off her tongue like it had weight.

"But you got me stressing. Feeling like I need to call when you sneak up on me..."

"Tell me that you miss me in your life..."

Nya snapped her head toward him. "Don't you dare answer that out loud."

"I wasn't planning to," Lloyd whispered, though his heart absolutely was.

The crowd swayed, unaware of the personal earthquake unfolding in front of them. To them, this was just a singer spilling feelings into the night. To Lloyd, it felt like being read aloud.

Then the chorus hit.

Harumi lifted her chin, voice firm now, edged with something almost defiant.

"I can't read your mind You say that you need to be alone...But night and day Want me at your beck and call..."

Lloyd flinched. Nya inhaled sharply.

Jay, horrified: "SHE SAID THE THING."

"You say you know that you might be crossing a line..."

Harumi stepped closer to the edge of the stage. The lights followed her, spotlight narrowing until it felt like the world had tunneled down to one girl and one boy who never learned how to let go correctly.

"Wasting all our time, to think that we could be casual...You're not my friend. And, baby, you never were..."

Lloyd felt exposed.

"Why the fuss if you say you just wanna be mine? I can't read your mind."

The last word echoed.

"Tell me what's gonna happen. When it's you and me in a room but you know you can't have it?"

Lloyd's breath hitched. Nya stared straight ahead now, jaw tight, because even she could hear the restraint in Harumi's voice. The way she didn't sound angry. Just... tired.

"Oh, I'll be laughing, When you say that you really have changed..."

A pause.

"Finally found your way Cause I'm close to your face."

Her eyes flicked to the front row again. Close enough to see the green in his eyes. Close enough to remind him how dangerous proximity had always been.

Arin's whisper crackled through the comms. "This feels illegal to witness."

Backstage, Sora hugged herself. "She's brave."

Zane nodded once. "And conflicted."

"Double-checking. Did I get the message in the way you intended?"

Harumi laughed softly.

"Got me second-guessing when you sneak up on me. Tell me that you need me in your life..."

Lloyd's chest ached.

"I can't read your mind. You say that you need to be alone...But night and day. Want me at your beck and call..."

Lights pulsed in time.

"You say you know. That you might be crossing a line..."

Harumi's grip tightened on the mic.

"Wasting all our time.To think that we could be casual..."

She shook her head.

"You're not my friend. And, baby, you never were."

The crowd screamed again, louder.

"Why the fuss if you say you just wanna be mine?"

Her voice cracked on mine.

"I can't read your mind."

The song built to its final stretch.

"You say that you need to be alone. But night and day. Want me at your beck and call...You say you know that you might be crossing a line..."

The last chorus hit like a confession she'd practiced too many times alone.

"I can't read your mind...You say that you need to be alone..."

The band dropped out on the final line.

"Why the fuss if you say you just wanna be mine?"

"I can't read your mind..."

Then applause detonated across the Crossroads.

Then Nya faced lloyd, "You good? I can fuck her face right here if you want?" "Nya, no."
