Cant stop thinking about hashirama, tobirama, madara, izuna. Where within these four and combinations of lovers and brothers, tobirama doesnt seem to be able to come out as no.1 to anyone. Totally hc ofc. Dont come for me. I totally thought abt this a lot.
Hashirama/Izuna & Madara/Tobirama. If Izuna and Tobirama got into a fight I feel like Hashirama as a romantic would side with Izuna (in a way where its not obvious siding but something along the lines of stop provoking Izuna, otouto) and Madara ofc total brocon would definitely side with Izuna over tobirama (in like a mundane situation, not life threatening where logic needs to come out on top). This leaves Tobirama feeling like?? My brother is supporting his boyfriend ok fine but my boyfriend is supporting his brother?? This doesn't make sense, how come my brother is supporting his boyfriend but my boyfriend is not supporting me? And how come my boyfriend is supporting his brother but my brother is not supporting me? It's like there's two connections here and neither of them are favourable to Tobirama, he is not a priority to either of them.
Tobirama slowly realising this.
His brother has always had grander and greater ideas plaguing his mind, he doesn't have much time to maintain his relationship with his brother. He's my brother of course we love each other but sometimes when people get used to loving each other they forget to show it. Now that he has a lover in Izuna he spends even less time with Tobirama.
Madara loves him of course, but when it comes to Izuna or Tobirama, Izuna is always going to come out on top. Madara loves his brother so dearly he'd destroy the world for him, it's hard for Tobirama to compete with that, and he doesn't want to compete.
Izuna, i assume they'd become something like friends. Maybe he understands Tobirama more than Hashirama and Madara ever could, both as heirs to their clan and as younger brothers. But Izuna is hot tempered, easy to anger and is always picking fights at the slightest hint of perceived slight. Together with Tobirama's personality where he's sassing him every second sentence they make an explosive pair if they're in the same room. In moments of anger he'd become defensive and use everything at his disposal to hurt tobirama, and in this case it's Hashirama and Madara.
Tobirama would fight at first, he has never gone down easy. If it affects the village or clan business he'd never let any of them get away with any nonsense. But for his personal life i always hc him as having less of a strong attitude towards it. Ie. he'd rather not waste his breath fighting his brother for siding with izuna when izuna is being completely illogical, he'd just turn and walk away.
When i was thinking abt this a few weeks ago I remember thinking particularly of when Tobirama realises even Madara, the man he loves and chose to love, doesn't put him as number one in his heart either. Self-esteem gone crushed to dust and je starts evading Izuna just so he doesn't have to see his brother and lover choosing someone else over him again and again. Made myself cry thinking about it but for the life of me i can't remember how it went 😭😭 this is what happens when you only explore ideas right before you sleep. Anyway thats all i have, might revisit this if i can remember anything later on.
Something funny to consider when pairing up the Senju siblings with the Uchiha siblings is the hypothetical scenario in which as soon as someone marries, their families (not their clans, only their immediate family units) would be considered “joined”. It would be hilarious if this resulted in any additional romantic relationship between other family members becoming regarded as “inappropriate” because, hey, they’re “family” now. (Bear with me, this is all for the sake of comedy here, I promise.) Marrying your brother-in-law now becomes bad manners. Not strictly forbidden, but frowned upon by society. (A parallel example would be step-siblings dating lol)
So picture this, we got our usual suspects: Madara, Hashirama, Tobirama, Izuna. (Pick your poison whether it is HashiMada + TobiIzu or MadaTobi and HashiIzu, or something completely else with some of the other brothers) Nothing has happened…yet. We also got the usual denial of “oh no I can’t possibly be in love with my mortal enemy even though we made peace by now”. But… then it happens. One day, one of them notices that their sibling is also struggling with affections. They go through all the stages of shock but then they realise the further implications. If your brother gets married to their crush before you, your already ill-fated crush becomes even more unavailable because now there’s this other societal stigma attached to it, on top of the whole ex-enemies part.
And if they both realise around the same time?
Then the race is on!
Whoever woos their bae first, “wins” xD
(I kinda picture “they” as Izuna and Madara xD they seem like the candidates to care about this and go the chaotic route, in a TobiIzu vs HashiMada scenario. Super petty. Underhanded tactics to subtly sabotage the other one’s realtionship. But also funny would Izuna vs Tobirama. (in a HashiIzu + MadaTobi sceario)… or Tobirama vs Madara.))
(in the end it won’t matter because either a) the “loser” will realise that they can just not give a fuck or b) slowly everyone involved becomes aware of what is going on and they go “you know we can just do a double wedding, then nobody is “first”, you idiots” at their gremlin chaos partners)
