Hi duck! I am also INTJ and a Cancer, and I was wondering, since you seem to promote these things about yourself, do you sometimes feel like they clash? Or do you think that they have similar aspects instead?
Hello :)
First off, I wouldn't necessarily say that I "promote" these things, I've always sort of meant it as a "warning" to those around me. Not that I am ashamed of these things (far from it, I quite like my distinction and wouldn't have it any other way), but there are certain associations that come from being a Cancer and being an INTJ and the fact that I'm both... well, I'm sure you understand, sometimes it's best if we come with a warning label. ;)
When I tag something 'intj duck' it means that I know I'm being overly critical of something, but I could not help myself from explaining that certain thing. It's a way of me trying to prevent people from getting offended, because I wasn't trying to do so.
Now, logically speaking I completely understand where one might think that the two things clash. Cancer's are known for being emotional, and the most well known INTJ is Sherlock Holmes... who, despite whatever version of the day you watch or read, isn't really known for showing emotions. I mean, there's a long list of apparently clashing attributes between the two, but I feel that the clashing attributes are also similar at the same time, just in different ways (if that makes sense).
The key is balance.
I feel that being a Cancer and being an INTJ provides, at least for me and from how I understand these things, a way of balancing life. If you really look into them, and I'm sure you have, I think you'll notice a vast number of parallels between the two categories (if you will).
Honestly, while I think it's one of the better possible combinations, it is also quite... horrendous.
Like, okay, Cancers are notorious for being difficult and so are INTJs, so lets combine them and hope that both of them don't decide to be difficult at the same time. Oh, yeah, and lets add into it the fact that both are hypersensitive to feelings/emotions of others. It's just that our version of helping tends to end up hurting us because... honesty, you know?
I think that if you've got your balance on and you're aware of your own personality quirks (and how they are in conjunction with your other personality quirks) then you can take certain measures to lower the rate of casualties, if you know what I mean... that is if you do actually care about the casualties. I mean... well, you know. lol
I think the INTJs honesty is a really strong armor (or shell) to protect our incredibly sensitive hearts. I think Cancer's need to nurture is a decent shield for those who surround us, it gives us a chance to take most of the sting out of our honesty, if there's a possibility for it. (But also, those who have proven themselves and have stuck around have also learned that, while we have our moments of harshness, it's our caring and sensitive side that makes up for it tenfold and in the most meaningful of ways. We understand our people and like to show we care by providing our people with what they need.)
But those same things are exactly why we are so incredibly dangerous. Our attention to those around us in combination with easily understanding what people need/want tends to provide us with the best of all weapons that can wound quite deeply....and, you know, once we've decided to go to battle, we've got double the armor 'cause of the INTJs logical armor and Cancer's stubbornly hard shell.
In essence, we've got a shield that wont be broken and a weapon that could go through nearly anything. That's why balance is key. Finding a way to surround ourselves with people who understand and are just as loyal is vitally important. It helps us keep the balance and not get too caught up in our own heads, because our brains... man, our brains and our hearts could get away with anything.
but if she knows drake, who is clearly still madly in love with rihanna and possibly back in rihanna's life, then it's only a matter of time before we get #phuckyoglee aka badgalnaya. ahhhhhhh.
