I gotta be honest.. between green and brown I will always choose brown. I know no one asked, but I needed to say it~

This is all I could get hold of in my youth, many moons ago. It usually came from Afghanistan, Morocco or Lebanon. This was well before the modern sophistication of strains and flavours.
Cannabis in weed form was scarce, and it was simply offered as 'weed'. It was also of dire quality. Yes, I really am that old.
The hash version was of variable quality: some was drying like this but still had power; some was drier and almost useless; some was oily and really packed a punch. Beggars couldn't be choosers and I took what I could get on the occasions upon which I indulged. For the record, I usually consumed with hot knives.
Now of course everything is completely different, and everyone seems to have access to everything (well, relatively). I still occasionally sample hash when on my travels and have found some of it to be exquisite.
Finally, I'm not sure what the hash in the photograph actually is: I simply can't recall. However, it's nothing special but it does remind me of days gone by... hence the old man reminiscing in this comment.
