[ ✠ ] it’s three in the morning and my muse unexpectedly arrives at your muse’s home.

It was two knocks before Ellie was awake. Her and sleep never truly made amends since Isla Nublar, but it came in handy when raising two kids. Or when you heard strange knocks at three in the morning. On her way to the door, she grabbed Charlie’s bat, but one look through the peephole told her she wouldn’t need it.

“Ian?” The door opened between them. “What’s wrong?”

“If that’s the case,” Ellie started teasingly, “I don’t know how you survive when I’m not around.” She leaned up and over to plant a quick kiss on his cheek. 

Even if the words were a little corny, they made her heart flutter. Ian was the world to her. Never had she fallen so hard for someone, or felt so completely intoxicated by someone’s mere presence. Even if she couldn’t hold back her teasing, there was no one she needed more in her life. Even more than she needed food, drink, or the ability to breathe.

BUTTERFLY

HMMMMM GOSH I WONDER WHO THIS COULD BE

Nevertheless, the grade is a rESOUNDING A+ BECAUSE THEY ARE THE OTP!!!

For those that don’t know, butterfly is the ship name for Ian/Ellie, which I write with @hatebeingrightallthetime. And let me tell you, they are one of the most glorious ships in the world. And let me tell you why.

Ellie and Ian have this balance from the way they’re both so quick and witty with their one liners. They both care, a great deal, but Ellie shows it more than Ian I believe. And, especially after the JP incident, they both just understand each other. Ellie was the one who found him after the T-Rex attack, she gave him morphine, she stayed with him. Ian, giant flirt that he is, respects that she’s in a relationship. But you can really tell he loves talking to her and loves that she not only gets what he’s saying, but is interested in it. He admires her strength and attitude. 

AND GOD I JUST LOVE THESE TWO SO MUCH DON’T TOUCH ME

And here she thought she was escaping unnoticed. She turned, ready to make up some excuse and duck out as quickly as possible, and then realized who it was exactly. “Ian! You’re here!” She grinned widely. “Well, there goes my excuse for leaving.” The party was for Dr. Hammond and, after saying hello to him, she hadn’t found much reason to stick around if Ian wasn’t there. But he had been late and her calls hadn’t gone through to him so she had left. Or tried to. “Did you get held up in traffic or something?”
