I've lost more than a little bit of confidence in doing new trails on my own, partly because I've not done them in a while. This being the biggest walk i did after my knee injury, I was quite unsure whether i could handle 20 kms of walking a day. To make matters even worse, on the first attempt to get to the top, i got a bit freaked out after listening to an old man go on about people getting lost, leopards in the bushes and a very sad story about a couple committing suicide at the top. Maybe it was the delays from listening to all the stories or me taking it easy on the climbs I ran out of daylight and decided to turn back. Tried it the next day and it was absolutely perfect, the visibility was amazing, the people i asked for directions were nicer and the trail was so much better. This was about the halfway point of the walk, it was absolutely stunning!
