Perhaps he should feel embarrassed over this fact, because they are indeed TWO GUYS SITTING IN A TUB, and not a very big tub really. Even so, there is no one around to tell them off, no one to scold them or worse flog them for such inappropriate behavior, which is why he cannot help but to allow a series of very childish giggles to escape. BECAUSE CHILDISH HE IS, in the right company. Really when he thinks about it, it is also quite an achievement for them to have produce such an amount of soap and bubbles as well. He is certain the entire room will smell of dried rose petals for weeks to come! ( and for that, he can’t say he’s apologetic ).
Perhaps, if he had known how heavily the heat exposes that ugly scar across his face, he would have felt less confident. Less joyful, but IGNORANCE IS BLISS, they say.

nyoom .
𝟏 . sometimes he just really likes to carry him . noel could be doing an entire interview & from out of nowhere , he is flipped over luis’ shoulder . there is often no destination in mind , you’ve got a great view , valentin , he likes to tell him .
𝟐 . first meal he makes them is birria with this really spicy salsa he makes from scratch . it is my strong opinion that noel didn’t really know what he was in for , mostly because luis himself says it isn’t very spicy at all . they now always have at least two gallons of milk in the house for every meal that luis plans to make .
𝟑 . their flirting & affection often takes shape as bared teeth & threatening snarls , but they also find it fits perfectly in hands held out in offerings of devotion . this is to say roslyn often wakes to find the pair tangled in each other , luis most always the one clinging tightly to him , lest he find himself pried away . good morning , idiot answered by i love you , you ass .
𝟒 . sometimes , they like to try to teach each other their languages . each time , they get distracted , if you will . it takes them many years to be able to speak full sentences in the other’s language , & likely - they’re just terrible pick up lines .
nyoom pt two
𝟏 . first time francis hears anyone try to make briar say ‘ yee - haw ’ without them being comfortable with it , he decks them . it doesn’t matter if it’s a driver , reporter , fan , anyone . they might be at the start of a rivalry , but no one makes briar uncomfortable .
𝟐 . he does always have a healthy respect for them , especially as they are an american driving for ferrari . on the other hand , he is much more likely to try to run them off track in tight corners , because they are an american driving for ferrari . likely , they’re the only driver that meets a barrier without meeting his fist about it .
𝟑 . during their incredibly difficult year without camille , francis has to work extra hard at his aggression . it likely escalates to a point where he starts slamming doors , but he never gets physical with briar or the baby . instead , i feel like briar gets them both to counseling , & they work on being without camille temporarily . end result is francis taking more responsibility so that briar does not simply bury themself in distractions . francis tries to start date nights , but those are mostly movie nights while the baby sleeps in the other room . they do serve as a wonderful distraction , & the two become incredibly close during the year .
𝟒 . when briar does enter the relationship , francis gets a ferarri sweater for each of the four cats . no one on social media really understands it until he posts a picture of their sleeping head tucked soundly between him & camille , approximately three weeks later .
sky + scotty
𝟏 . incredibly likely she does not even have to put in a request for a transfer of stations , as scotty has it done by the time he first steals her . she is a quick learner , & he thinks she is better equipped for work down below , instead of in medical . she hates it , but he’s right .
𝟐 . she chats his ear off , when they’re not terribly busy . he gets to hear many stories about her dad , stationed on another ship . most of them are clearly embellished , but they’re the type of stories she shares about him when she thinks he isn’t around to hear them .
𝟑 . after being sucked out the windows , she likes to avoid them all she can , taking literally the longest way around the ship if it means avoiding them . after the tenth time she is late in arriving to her post , scotty sits with her by a window , just keeping her company , helping her feel safe on the ship again .
𝟒 . scotty being the only one to see through her disguises as other crewmates , & she never understands why , but it’s because he’s marked the very edge of her uniforms so he always knows when it’s her & not the captain with some fun new orders .
vicki + felix
𝟏 . when felix gets outed as spiderman to vicki , she takes some time to figure out if she wants to continue the relationship , ONLY because it finally occurs to her that she could be putting her in danger . vicki doesn’t let her go too far though , like a vine wrapped ‘round a tree . she keeps her tethered , & spiderman starts stopping by the flower shop near daily for a morning smooch . for good luck .
𝟐 . but also i feel like , even when she does not know who felix really is , she never questions why she doesn’t have to pay at little ‘ mom & pop ’ restaurants . due to a misunderstanding , it’s very possible vicki just thinks felix worked for almost every restaurant in the city at some point . it’s not technically wrong .
𝟑 . felix always tries to get patched up before she sees vicki , if only to keep her from worrying . it does not occur to her that it might make her worry even more when the news reports on a terrible fight spotted downtown , & she doesn’t respond to texts right away . she shows up to her place plenty of times with bandages & bruises , but a bright smile to try to reassure her . on days she’s especially hurting , she brings her her favorite desserts , & a bouquet of carnations
𝟒 . i will also die by the idea of picnics high above the city , watching the sun rise or set . she always returns her home at the designated time , & always gives her the most polite kiss . she didn’t realize she wanted to be romantic until she met victoria .
bucky + felix
𝟏 . the first time he sees her after she’s lost the leg , he keeps the shock down , maybe a blink ? what surprises him the most is how fast she comes up to him to point frantically at the missing limb , excited to match . he is then reminded she’s basically a child .
𝟐 . she makes it a fun game of trying to sneak up on him , knowing he won’t kill her . she never does get to startle him , he always points out that she’s TOO LOUD , but she does just once get him in a web from five stories up . LEGEND SAYS you can still hear her voice on the breeze saying ‘ worth it . ’
𝟑 . plenty of times on the battlefield she has to help him up - not that she NEEDS to , but that she will literally abandon current objective to make sure he’s okay . no one says anything about it ( she can chuck a stinger like a javelin with deadly accuracy from wherever they may be ) , but the principle stands that no one ought be left behind , even terribly cranky old men who might scruff her about it later .
𝟒 . she doesn’t have a bad relationship with her family , but she doesn’t have the best relationship with her family . she is the only child , so bucky really is the big brother she never has ( or grandfather figure , if he’s really being ornery ) . when she wants to introduce victoria to her family , it’s literally just a dinner with him . she can’t pin point why exactly , but his approval means absolutely everything to her .

@ofmalice briar's writing is just immaculate my dudes what can i say. plotting with him is a joy and he's always enthusiastic and extensive in his world building and hcs and plots. also his graphics are on fire but that's a given. bro imagine being so consistently on top of the world imagine. so much talent in one package what's not to adore honestly. Listen. the talent popped OFF what can i say!!!!!!! their plotting and world building are extensive and they're very easy to reach out to and toss ideas around w and their blog is so full of easily accessible and well laid out info that it's easy to plot w characters i literally never even heard of before following them. definitely a rec go check em out.

GOD ABOVE. HEAVEN TAKE HIM. Cheeks blossom with an ever so slightly pink. Nothing of notice unless one should take a moment to truly regard him. Blue eyes stares out into the room, where is mother. Why hasn’t mother had this talk yet. Why must it fall to him. He who, in all actuality, only knows half of the phenomena if not less. Bottom lip comes to rest between teeth as mind searches for answers.
How much do one reveal? What is acceptable to say?

Oh, and the regret hits momentarily after words leaves lips. Why couldn’t he have just gone with the stork story.
“just a fun question,” a pause, then her head tilts & she inhales. “are you always this perky? always this... happy go lucky kinda person or do you also have shitty days?” people can’t always be positive & happy all the time, can they? she refuses to believe that. she refuses to believe that people are always that happy. everyone has damage, right?
Ellie fixes the student with a blank, unimpressed look. Surely things with Jac haven’t been so obvious? She hasn’t even slept with him - a thought which she rushes to shut down, because she isn’t going to sleep with him. They shared one drunken kiss, on her account, and really she’s lucky that he hasn’t taken her to a harassment at work tribunal. She fixes a pile of papers against her desk with slightly more force than necessary, watching the student wince in response.
“I heard that you failed your finals. Funny the rumours we hear. In my experience, it’s best to not give credence to rumours. As historians, we have a duty to provide evidence for our assertions, a duty to future generations and to ancestors passed.” She pauses, sets her papers back in place and clicks her laptop, watching the screen light up. “Your paper on the Dutch Navy is due by 10PM tonight, by the way. I hope that you provide better proof for your conclusions in your academic work than in the drivel you bring to my office hours.”
