This Tekoteko Concept Is Based On Our Tupuna Marutuahu, Created At The Red Shed In Thames Behind Ngati Maru & Finished At Our Homestead In front Of Our Uncle's Cabin, The Pukeko Feathers Were Gifted To Us In Thames, The Reason For Applying The Pukeko Feathers Is Because When You're At The Creek In Our Homestead You'll See Pukeko Roaming Up & Down The Creek Looking For Food & Taking It Back To Their Nest Further Down The Creek, The Tewhatewha Represents Guidance, The Feather On The Tewhatewha Is A Pidgeon Feather From Our Uncle's Carving Shed In Thames, When You Walk In You'll See Multiple Pidgeons As They Get Older They Tend To Drop Feathers So I Go And Collect Them, The Reason Behind This Concept Is To Acknowledge Our Ancestors, The Ones Who Created The Foundation & Layed The Path For Us, Now I Know There's Been Some Issues Between Hauraki & Other Iwi Lately Due To Past Events That Have Happened, For Us Young Ones Who Have Had The Ability To Do Some Researching We've Learnt To Keep Things Humble, As An Individual Within Hauraki It's Nothing But Love For All Within This Environment, Seeing Our People Succeed In Different Areas Is What We Love To See, Our Acknowledgements To All Who Support Our Work & The Ones Who Have Helped Us Show Our Talents....
