For the tell me a story thing, I've been wondering lately if I should start doing little reactions from groups I like, but I'm kinda scared because there are so many other blogs out there doing the same thing and they're all so good at it ;A; Mostly I'm tempted because there are a few groups I adore that few people write for, but as my kpop blog is a sideblog and I can't send asks from it I'm not sure how I can get my name out there. First of all, that’s exciting! If you think it’s going to be fun, then I think you should absolutely go for it. I’m sure you’ll do really well! Don’t let the fact that there is other content out there stop you! Think about it this way: if you wanted to bake a cake, but someone else had already baked a cake, would you just say ‘nah I guess I won’t’ orrr… bake a cake as well, so that now there are TWO cakes?

The answer is: more cake is always better. Always.

As for getting your name out there… it’s a process. As both a fanfiction writer and a text blog admin, I know the struggle! It just takes patience, grasshopper. Darling-vixx (also a sideblog) has about 680 followers right now, and that is mostly by having a really solid tagging system. I didn’t do much promotion at all (full disclosure: there’s not a heck of a lot of vixx-only text blogs as far as I’ve seen, so that may have helped). The rest has just been people reblogging or spotting my content in the tags. If you want other people to promote your content in whichever fandoms you choose, you can easily find blogs (like me) who are willing to promote - just pop your blog in their ask box (even on anon) and see. Can’t hurt to ask, right?

I bet your writing is great. Don’t ask yourself if it’s ‘okay’ enough! The longer you stare at your own work, the more flaws you’ll find (even if, to return to the cake metaphor, you’ve still baked an amazing and delicious cake). I’m thrilled to hear that you’ve found the muse once more (it’s an elusive creature, to be sure) and I wish you a lot of luck and fun!!! 😘
