You hear it said all the time that words are powerful and I never understood the effect words spoken to me when I was young had on me until recently • When you’re a bigger girl going through your awkward years kids, people, culture can say things that make dreaming impossible • Considering myself FAT meant that I could never imagine being skinny. Why consider myself fat? Because those were the words spoken to and at me and I didn’t know how to not allow them into my soul • Age and time has given me the skills to absorb the good and deflect the bad and hurtful but the more important thing I have come to realise FOR ME is that it is NOT about FAT or SKINNY, it IS about HEALTHY in whatever form that comes and being comfortable within that form • This is not an easy revelation to take on.
