Well, let's see...I think any combination of the following explains what I've observed. Presented in no particular order of importance or timeline of real events.

They needed (and maybe still need) therapy.

Their lust faded.

They didn't like that he had relationships. {y'all have never seen some of the unpublished Asks I got, starting with the Lizzie Olsen era - YIKES}

They are racist.

They got bored.

They found a new crush.

They didn't know how to be a healthy fan/didn't have an understanding of parasocial relationships.

They got tired of seeing him in the same clothes.

Life happened.

They didn't like that he matured and changed.

They thought he sold his soul for a three month fake relationship in order to further his own career (also the moon landing didn't happen, Elvis is still alive, the earth is flat, and I adore bananas).

They weren't interested in his career choices.

They made a conscious choice to move on for any number of reasons and rode off into the sunset.

They never got over the Yankees cap situation.

They never got over Pastagate.

If I got over 14 and 15, they should have been able to as well.

They don't have a sense of humor.

Am I the only one wishing we got a better view of his costume at the very end (besides the shoes)

I wouldn't be mad if we had.

I would have liked it if the transformation had been shown from feet up, culminating in the horns. I understand why they chose to have it zoomed out so that the full context was shown, but I think that would have worked better if this had been a feature film on a giant screen in a theatre. Considering that it was made for the small screen, I think a close up may have been more impactful.

So I followed you for hiddles, and here I am becoming increasingly obsessed with the american variant and I’ve been watching SNW all week 😂😭 are there any of his other shows or movies you’d recommend?

Hiya! Well, I guess that's a hazard of following this blog these days.

As someone who only started paying attention to him when he was on Discovery in 2019, here are my thoughts...

I am not going to sit through every B movie he's made over the years. The Anson from 20 years ago, 15 years ago, maybe even 10 years ago doesn't appeal to me. Something has happened to this man as he has gotten older. It isn't just a physical aging, it's also his growth as an actor and I am sure he has also been impacted by life experience. He's just seasoned now and it is a thing of beauty.

I haven't watched Hell On Wheels because it appeared rather dire and depressing to me when I first heard about it and as much as I usually like seeing a good actor in distress, I often avoid something when it is the current good actor who has taken my fancy. However, there are five seasons to get through, so that could occupy you for a while. :)

If you've already seen SNW, I recommend giving Discovery a try. It's very different in some major ways, so be prepared. @happycabbage and I just watched his episode of CSI:Miami and he was what I thought he would be: a sort of semi-douchy suspect. I just today watched the episode of Law and Order he was on and I remembered it. I remembered thinking that the actor (I didn't know his name at the time) was great for the specifics of the character, it was perfect casting. Give that a whirl.

To sum up, having not seen his entire body of work, I would say his best years are now and I would watch the episode of L&O, Discovery and Hell On Wheels.

Okay, fine, I have one more comment...I saw a quote from him that he never got period pieces because casting directors told him that he looked too "contemporary" and that makes me very curious which roles he wanted and/or actually got to audition for but did not get.

I lied, I have another comment...like his OG, I really hope the future offers him more comedy because he has talent for it and that aspect of his skills has been under-used so far.

Norcal or socal and why

There are terrific things about both, honestly. I don't mean that as a pageant queen answer, it is true.

San Diego, San Francisco, Monterey, Lake Tahoe, Mendocino, Santa Barbara, Solvang, Napa and Sonoma, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, Big Sur, Crescent City, Shasta...

The Lompoc flower fields, the orchards and fields of the Central Valley, Muir Woods, Yosemite, the vineyards up and down the state, the deserts, the northern beaches and the southern beaches, the Skunk Train, Hearst Castle, Disneyland, the Huntington, the Stanford Museum, the Golden Gate Bridge...

The Giants, the Dodgers (BOO, HISS!!), the 49ers, the Angels, the Warriors, the Sharks, the Athletics, the Lakers, the figure skating clubs, the aquatics clubs, the golf clubs...

Also basically any kind of food you want? Stopping on the side of the road and buying fruit that was grown right there? In n Out?

Whew. Having said all that, my preference for residence is northern, although I would definitely consider San Diego.

This message means a lot to me. I try to make this blog a place that you have described: positive, respectful, and fun. I think those are all qualities that Hiddleston has. And no hand wringing, no gossip - such high praise, truly. I do think being a fan can be a healthy part of life and we need to fight against negative stereotypes (which unfortunately are often accurate characterizations and can’t really be called “stereotypes”).

He is one of the finer things in life, absolutely. Blogs about him should follow his example.
