Sometimes it fucking kills me that Kyojuro died. Like, I know it was a narrative catalyst and necessary for the story progression, and i know how writing works and all that. But I can’t help thinking about how soon he died. How much healing took place all the years after his death. How his death was a catalyst for change, but he never got to see any of it himself.

He never got to see his father heal. He never got to see Senjuro find his confidence. He never watched Tengen retire with all his wives. He never saw Tanjiro grow. He never saw the war end, he never saw the fall of Kibutsuji. By the time he was gone it was far too late. He caused so much healing, spread so much love and light and positivity. He was the soul of the Corps in that his extinguishing made them better. He is the canary in the coal mine, whose absence provoked a massive and groundbreaking change, but never got to see it himself. He never got any of that change. He died without a father, he died without any closure. His death was the closure but he never saw it himself. I feel insane im gonna chew metal
