So, John Heffernan has two scenes in Having You (2013), each of them about 15 seconds long and only of them with any lines at all. Splendid (no, it's not).
"Having you as a best friend is amazing, wonderful, terribly lovely, and all around just my fav thing in the world.."
Nothing makes sense unless you are in the picture - eUë
I often watch our avian friends swoop around in the air and wonder what it might be like to sprout wings and join them in the sky. Though that will probably never happen, let’s celebrate their prismatic plumage and the heavenly paradise that many birds find themselves in by shimmying our earth-bound bodies to The World Of Birds, a band from Cape Town, South Africa. They illuminate our night sky with their chromatic song Having You, a lush canvas of verdant sonic foliage and dreamy, surfy indie pop akin to fellow South Africans Al Bairre, as well as San Cisco and Cayucas. Having You is just this intriguing new act’s second single. The World Of Birds made their debut but three months ago with Open Up, a dusty, perky dance pop and indie pop twirler that kinda feels like Phosphorescent gone dance-y and groovy, with a pinch of Peter Bjorn and John. You can also stream The World Of Birds’ two summery songs on Spotify, here. Let’s hope a third song isn’t too far down the line.
How are you?
