Having Internet Etiquette
When online it’s good to treat people with the same etiquette that you would want to be treated with in your physical life. People have a tendency to forget that there are real people behind the screen and say and do things without thinking. People see the comments that are made and respond to it in the same way as you would normally, to our brains there is no difference between virtual or online life and physical life so it reacts the same in both situations. As i’ve said before most people act as if there is no consequence to online actions, while untrue, if people pretend there are no consequences it allows their concious to remain clear while they injure other people’s feelings. They hide behind a screenname and act in anyway that they want. If your objective is to make friends, grow a business, or to be a decent person then internet ettiquette is important. The rule of thumb is always think about what your about to write or say and ask yourself would you like other individuals to say that to you. if the answer is no then don’t say it. This is showing internet courtesy, or just regular courtesy there is no reason to be mean online and to fill people’s pages with negative comments. if you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say anything. Again as i’ve said before it is kind and important to share and like people’s posts. This shows that you support them and helps spread the information. If you like it then someone else will as well. This helps the person creating the material feel motivated and expands the reputation of the individual which also increases their motivation to create new and better material. It is kind to help people you would want the same if it were on the other hand, and remember nobody is “too good” to share someone else’s posts. It is only a click and it is very helpful and repectful. If you appreciate someone’s work share it so other people see it as well, something that helped you or brought you joy, can do the same for other people. It will also help the individual creating the material to expand. This is just kind. Everyone needs to make a living and why wouldn’t you want a business (that you respect) to get bigger so they can show others how to do better. Many people feel as if they couldn’t make a difference but every additional help, no matter how little you think it may be, helps. We put in effort to create material and we appreciate it when you share something you like it means a lot to us.
