Today we watched as many pages paid tribute and recognized those who lost their lives that day. As we all should. Today marks a tragic day where “Murphy” got the best of some of the best dudes to ever walk the earth. A lot of lessons came out of that day. Lessons the military will not soon forget. However, tonight. Let’s look at this from another lens... Photographed above, MSG Gary Gordon and SFC Randy Shughart. A casebook study in what the definition of brotherhood is all about. While there are many examples of heroism and courage in the face of adversity to be recognized from this day...it’s hard to TRULY capture and appreciate these two. But I want you to imagine yourself sitting on that helicopter still in the air...as Gordon and Shughart...except it’s you and your best friend. Overlooking the crash site of “Super Six-Four”...Quickly becoming surrounded by a angry and bloodthirsty mob. Your best friend turns to you...and says... “Someone is still alive down there bro. We have to go down there.” Now really think about this...you have a birds eye view of the chaos below. It dosent take a rocket scientist to come to the quick conclusion that this is more than likely a suicide mission. However, to do nothing means that Pilot Mike Durrant...WILL undoubtedly die should you not act and in the next two minutes. How do you respond? How do you answer your best friend? Knowing that agreeing to do this means slim to no chance of making it out. Let’s be real for a moment... We all SAY we’d land and get off that bird. But would you really? Is your bond that good with your brothers (blood and non blood alike) to be willing to go and enter the abyss? A friend told me “the media has got you”. He’s still my dear friend of course, we have differing views on many things. He isn’t stupid. Far from it. Neither is my liberal friend who believes we can stay at home indefinitely. I haven’t followed the commercial news media in 2 years. But I am informed. Democrat communists’ and Republican Authoritarians have taken the bait. I believe this virus, race issues, and wealth disparity are part of a dedicated adversary’s program to weaken and ultimately destroy the USA. The virus is real. It’s dangerous. Deadly to some. But your reactions. Your response. The malice you have for anyone who disagrees with you: that’s the enemy inside your head. They are tuning you like a guitar. Here is the truth about the masks, shutdown, bankruptcy, millions on welfare, “you are a pussy - no - you are a selfish idiot “ game you’ve been losing to each other: None of us has any clue what facts are true and which are drivel. You weren’t a biological warfare expert last year. Sharing spurious news articles that support your opinion makes you feel good. You need it. Your experts and their experts... even they haven’t a clue. I’m not afraid of covid. I’m afraid of you. Liberals and conservatives alike. Today marks the 26th anniversary of Operation: Gothic Serpent, the tragic US led Military offensive in Mogadishu, Somalia that most only know about through the 2001 film Black Hawk Down. The goal of the #American offensive was to capture Somalian warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid. Task Force Ranger was made up of B Company 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment, C Squadron 1st Special Forces Operations Detachment-Delta, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Navy SEALS from the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, 14th infantry from 10th mountain, Pararescue Operators and Combat Controllers from the 24th Special Tactics Squardon, the Italian 9 Parachute Assault Regiment “Col Moschin” and 186 Parachute Regiment “Folgore”, supported by Pakistani light infantry and light armor units. These are the fallen heroes of Mogadishu: Donovan (“Bull”) Briley Daniel Busch James Manuel Cavaco William D. Cleveland Jr. Thomas J. Field Earl Fillmore Raymond Alex Frank Cornell Houston Gary Ivan Gordon, whose body was dragged through the streets of Mogadishu by a mob. He was awarded the Medal of Honor. J. This is the RMS Queen Elizabeth pulling into New York with returning US Servicemen in 1945 at the end of World War II. She sailed from Gourock in Scotland on August 6 1945 arriving at New York on August 11 1945. Some of the servicemen could therefore be Ground Echelon of 492 Bomber Group. The Queen Elizabeth together with the Queen Mary were used as troopships in the Second World War. Their great carrying capacity and speeds of over 28 knots were a huge asset to the Allies. The Queen Elizabeth, (carrying capacity over 15,000 troops and over 900 crew), was to carry 750,000 troops in total and she to travel over 500,000 miles. Our heroes. Our history.
