PSA- Taking down the HYDRA cell after his kids.

Because we haven't been able to play it out like we wanted due to Real Life getting in the way - Here's the Low Down on the HYDRA cell that was going after Phil's kids.

A two prong team of May + Triplett, and Clint + Phil went to their base, MT went one way, CP went the other.

Phil did, indeed, at one point slip into his Handler mindset (not the alternate personality, but the lethal specialist he once was)  Clint was able to get him out of it fair quickly, but there were bodies that didn't die as cleanly as most of the rest as a result.

By the time both teams were done, there were no living HYDRA.

The building was imploded after the mission ended.

Today We Are Incomplete | Francis + Clint + Mal

     Wheeling his wheelchair to the apartment door, Clint is prepared to grapple with the door as always when he sees her, leaning in the hall, arms crossed, wearing a blue dress he somehow remembers from the short months they'd spend together all those years ago. The look of surprise on her face is something he's used to by now, but either way he winces like it's a personal blow, and in a way it was. 

     "I was hoping you wouldn't see me like this." The soldier murmurs as he wheels up to the door, a pained expression overcoming his features as he went through one pocket then the other to find his keys; he'd been walking, or rather rolling, a fellow soldier out who'd come to visit him, and had instructed Francis to leave the door closed as always, even though it meant fighting with it now. "Now's not a good time." He continued, sliding the key into the lock, shooting Mal a look. She didn't know about Francis, or at least he didn't think she did.

     As he struggles to open the door and simultaneously wheel his wheelchair through he calls to the boy despite his earlier statement. "Hey, Francis? I know we just had a visitor, but there's someone else I think you should meet."

Looking out (Phil, Francis, Merc!Clint)

It was rare that a greyface was helpful, anymore that is.  Phil had had Jarvis set up a ping alert for any trouble for those he was closest to.  His husband, sons, daughter.  Daughter's boyfriend who was also his 'little brother's' son.  Sam, and Peter, and ... everyone.

The Greyface beat that ping to telling him of Clint's accident.  Phil, getting his key to not-Lola and striding out of the NYC SHIELD HQ, wondered how much of an 'accident' it really was.

Could be paralized.

He drove swiftly to the Diner, catching Francis and apologising to Darcy, as he took her boyfriend away without any explanation other than 'your dad needs you'.

Which led them to the Hospital, post op, both of them in the waitingroom with him, waiting for him to wake up.

"He'll be okay," Phil said, not sure how much he believed it. Realising he was still in that grey place, and suddenly glad the base, 'TAHITI', was gone.  

Healing was a dangerous promise.
