Tony: sure... *says behind his mug* he definitely isn't strutting for you [was I this bad with Bucky?]

Sneak Peek of Tempting ch 40!!

"Brock! Oh my God! You came for me! My hero!" Clint shouted over the music, clearly drunk.

Brock was guessing it was the alcohol more so than his heat at this point.

"Come on, baby, let's go home," Brock murmured in his ear, wrapping an arm around his waist to hold him up.

Clint shook his head, pointing to the Alpha sitting in the booth.

"This is Sam!"

Clint was clearly excited about introducing Brock to his boyfriend. Brock had heard a lot about this Sam guy. More than he'd like to have. Clint had only gone out with him a couple of times, but Clint swore that he was in love and wanted to mate with him. Brock always tried to brush it off. He could tell from the way that Clint talked about him that he was about to lose another nestpartner.

What Brock didn't know is why he cared so much. He didn't care when Rollin's got a mate or Natasha, or any of his many other nestpartner from over the years. For some reason the thought of losing Clint stung and it was more than just not wanting to be alone again. Brock had been pretty sure that when Clint planned this date, so close to their heat that it was honestly risky to go out on a date with an Alpha that he didn't intend to mate with, that Clint was going to let Sam take him home and help him through his heat.

Brock had felt the familiar loneliness settle like a rock in his stomach when Clint walked out the door, kissing Brock on the cheek and promising to see him later. Brock had been pretty sure that he wouldn't see Clint later, maybe not for a long time. Brock wasn't exactly the most likeable guy and most of his past nestpartners hadn't stayed in touch after they moved on.

Then Clint had texted him and Brock had immediately thought that Clint must have changed his mind. Maybe this Alpha turned out to be a creep and Clint didn't want to let him help him through his heat.

Was it bad that Brock had hoped that Clint had changed his mind? Surely that made him a bad person, right? He shouldn't want Clint to be lonely forever, just because he knew he would be. It wasn't fair to Clint who deserved so much more, but Brock had kinda hoped that they might be lonely together, at least for a while longer.

This week we get a glimpse at how Brock and Clint ended up mated to Sam👀👀

Clint got sent undercover on some shield mission and ended up with Sam’s troop (is that what it’s called?). Sam and Clint flirt and maybe have a fling? But then it’s time for Clint’s extraction and he convinces himself he’ll never see Sam again so he pretty much ghosts him. And Sam always wonders what happened to Clint but he’s got other things going on. At least, until Steve introduces him to the rest of the avengers.

steve: you ever loved someone, sam? sam: yeah but he vanished years ago steve: i’m sorry :( sam: eh shit happens. i’m over it steve: aw. anyway this is clint clint: uh sam:

i remember there was this one anime where sam and clint where shield partners  and then clint faked his death   and sam was all  “honouring clint’s last request”   and honestly it was a bit gay   but i don’t remember which ridiculous series it was

Clint and Sam started dating completely separate from Avengers and SHIELD stuff. They were dating before they both were on the team, and it wasn’t a Big Deal. They both don’t really have secret identities, its more code names. They’d already had their relationship filed with SHIELD, and they’re both pretty professional at work, even Clint. And any flirting (mostly on Clint part) is taken as a more of a joke by the team cause they’re all oblivious idiots.

Now I’m imagining Steve dragging Sam along on a mission without telling him who else is here today and Sam sees Clint in the Hawkeye gear and Clint sees Sam in his Falcon gear and they just go:

“That’s my boyfriend!”

I head canon that Redwing loves Clint and that Sam is disgruntled about it at first. He sees Clint eating cold pizza out of the fridge with his pet bird perched on Clint’s head and is all “WTF???” and Clint just shrugs it off but secretly buys the bird treats and toys.

Sam, disgruntled: tell me the truth, do you love him more than me Redwing: :v Sam: traitor Clint, just walked in the door with flowers he stole from a nearby garden and a bunch of elaborate perches to install in his apartment: ??? Sam: yeah okay i can understand why but i’m still mad

Summary:

Clint has always kept his home life to himself not wanting anyone to know just how rough things are, then Sam comes over to study and learns the truth. Sam can’t just let it go, so he brings Clint back to his place and the Wilson’s open their doors up to Clint.
