HAWPcast is one of my favorite podcasts forever and I love Ash and I'm pretty sure I want to be her when I grow up but THIS PODCAST IN PARTICULAR is one of my very very favorite things in the world forever
this podcast is real real good but my favorite part starts at like 29:00 I think? and then continues to the end but I also love the beginning and the middle parts and end. everyone should listen to the whole thing if you need something to listen to in the background it's great. also all HAWPcast. my fav lines though there are many:
"the thing about all of this is [...] the ratio of men to women is really strange, and the ratio particularly of women that are participants in the story vs men is also really strange [...] I think that something that people maybe forget or just don't remind themselves of is that WOMEN ARE 50% OF THE POPULATION. FIVE ZERO. HALF. And if you look at any of the media that exists in the world at this moment it's astonishing"
"It's not your fault that this is the way that it is. I feel like when this kind of conversation happens people feel like they're being attacked? Because they like it? [...] I liked Thor. And I will tell people that I liked Thor. It's not anyone's fault that it's sexist? [..] It'd be REALLY REALLY SUPER DUPER COOL if people actually thought about their media in that way"
conclusion: HAWP is good and HAWPcast is also good please do both.

I heard about this on the Hey Ash Whatcha Playin' Podcast (HAWPCast for short): There's a blog where this guy made characters in the Sims 3 and only intervened to have them do what they wanted (expressed through the speech bubble) and help them meet their goals (as defined by the character creation). What followed was an excellent story.

Anthony: I actually think the game is bad, but I also don't not enjoy playing it - It's like eating crack.
Ash: Eating crack?
Anthony: I was going to say eating brownies a lot - but that's not really sufficient.
Ash: That's not really comparable. WoW is not brownies, WoW is...
Anthony: WoW is ... Wow is a food that every time you eat it, it cosmetically gets slightly better even though the actual thing that you're eating doesn't really change drastically and sometimes you can go into a dungeon made of brownies and different qualities of brownies will drop that may be more or less useful to you-
Ash: It's not brownies though-
Anthony: -and you have to make sure you bring a tank, a healer and two damage dealers with you to get the brownies and at the end-
Ash: This is not a good analogy!
Anthony: -AT the end of the brownie there's a big massive brownie that you fight with a bunch of other guys and they build an ad campaign around him and it's called "Wrath of the Lich Brownie."
