My favorite story about [This Year] is that I considered it unfinished--I like choruses with rhyme lines, I'm never aiming for an anthem. I emailed it to Peter while I was working toward the album session--hot off the presses, so to speak--and mentioned to him that I expected to revise the chorus, give it a little more body. Peter, choosing his words carefully so as not to elicit a defensive response, said that I could do as I pleased, but it seemed to him good the way it was, and that I might consider just letting it stay that way.
