After Grayson starts getting more integrated into his sisters' lives with Gigi fully embracing him as her big brother and Savannah warming up to him steadily, his interactions with Acacia increase by a lot. Although generally he has a hard time opening up to people, for some reason, it's very easy with her and he admits to himself that he could talk with her for hours if he wanted to. Eventually, she unofficially becomes the maternal figure he's always wanted and needed desperately as he grows quite comfortable around her, so much so, that one day he accidentally calls her Mom. In a very un-Grayson-Hawthorne-like way, the moment he catches himself, he turns red in the face and becomes very bashful, looking down at his feet before apologizing quietly. Acacia simply smiles and walks over to him, hugging him and when he returns her hug, she tells him, "You can call me Mom, Grayson. I'd be honored if you did." Gray doesn't reply but just hugs her tighter in response and they just stay like that for a good moment before she lets go but not without kissing his forehead. Let's just say that Grayson leaves his sisters' home with his pride that night but then bawls his eyes out in the car on the side of the road on the way to the hotel. From then on, he calls Acacia Mom although it feels awkward to him at first but it rolls off the tongue better than Skye ever did. Oh, and Acacia called him that first night when he mistakenly called her Mom to see if he made it to the hotel safely and had a room set up for him at her home. Since then, that also becomes a testament of her motherly affection towards him; she calls him when she knows he's going on a trip or when's he had a late night to talk him into going home, stuff like that.
