Absolutely! I thought it was beautifully done. And even though some people have pointed out that killing off a character isn't the only way to write someone out of the show, I'd rather have a proper death scene than a vague "oh, um, he went to London and we'll never see him again idk" thing. (Or a grandpa coughing up black goo in some locked room somewhere, never to be spoken of again.)
