I couldn't stop thinking about an AU where Daniel resorts to gathering vitae again, this time to 'cure' Hazel, after his Brennenburg adventure💫, thoughts all mainly derived from this loadscreen text that tells us that Hazel is still in hospice care by the time the game's story began.

As much as I love Daniel, I don't think he really learned all that much from his experience even in the most charitable ending towards him in which he saves Agrippa. I can very, VERY easily see him slipping back into old ways if it meant saving Hazel. The most he seems to approach viewing torture as bad is when he realizes he himself no longer counts as an innocent so he can't justify killing others to save himself anymore. But killing no good, horrible, bad people to save HAZEL? Now, we're cooking with gas 😀 💀

no because i am thinking about daniel who gradually takes his father's traits(and doesn't notice it) as he gets older so it is not always clear if he is so agressive because of his repressed anger or because he is his father's son and obviously he lashes out on hazel sometimes making her as scared as she is when their father screams. at daniel and beats him but i do not think daniel ever did it or did but it was very rare of him so she even gets scared that he will beat her because he seems uncontrollable at the moment of rage especially if he is drunk(which means everyone will die because i think his behaviour sometimes becomes even more similar to his father's behaviour after consuming alcohol) but unlike his dad daniel is able to ask for forgiveness after his breakdowns and hazel always forgives her brother because she understands that he loves and cares for her way more than their own parents and he tries not to be agressive even if he is dead tired or very very irritated because he doesn't want to become his father and to hurt his little sister who depends on him
