solnyshko (tw; self-harm)
why would you do that, Nole?
what if alec and hazel got a happy ending because they made me sad
Ok.
I don’t know if I’ll do something with that.
If you want to do something with it/get inspired by it, go for it! 👍

Alone with the ghost of the past.
(Lonely Freddy)
Hazel's centric
25 Young teacher
Live alone in her apartment.
Alec 15 "Dead" (He's a ghost/spirit.)
"Alec" 30 Lawyer
Father of a 3-year-old boy.
[Alec haunts his little sister after looking for her for a time. (Weeks or months. He found her near the Freddy that started everything. He had waited there in hope to see her pass by.)
All the possessed Lonely Freddy in the dumpster has been thrown in a compactor and then an incinerator.
Those who haven't move on have gone to look for their family or stayed in the vicinity of the place to cry or comfort/take care of the youngest ones.
One thinks they're all dead.]
---
After the party, he had started to act “good”.
It felt wrong, though.
Don’t get her wrong, she was glad they were finally getting along and closer, but he felt… odd.
He didn’t only stop being mean, but also fun. He had become like an empty puppet. Listening to any suggestion their mother gave him. It’s also because of that he’d stop doing skateboard and lean more towards his studies.
He wasn’t a kid anymore. He wasn’t himself.
Now, he was just a careless defense lawyer.
She had thought he hated her, but now? She wishes he would, rather than this empty husk. His kindness wasn’t genuine. It was just that. Kindness. She couldn’t feel any cares in his actions or words. It was just nothing. Just politeness. He's the older brother and that's how he should act. That's how it is.
They didn’t argue anymore. He didn’t complain about any unfairness between them even. That’s what she hated to most of his "new leaf".
Soon after they were getting closer, she’d started to grow more and more distant as the years goes. Now, they barely saw each other's. Besides during holidays and birthday parties.
They still keep in touch. Well, more like Alec was the one keeping touch. He was always calling her once a week. Always the same day. Always the same hour. It was like he had a timer ingrained in his head.
The Alec before that fateful day, the worst day of her life she would say (even though, she would have called it the best one at the time), was gone. Replaced by an empty robot-like person.
She would say he acted more sociopathic now than then. She wasn’t alone with that thought. She had eavesdropped a conversation between her mother and Gigi one night when she was supposed to be in bed. (It was weird that Alec had stopped doing so.) Her aunt had shared the same opinions to her sister. Which didn’t appreciate at the time. Even her father had grown sticking to the same worries. Only her mother wasn’t giving up. However, over time, she too was letting suspicions root. Even if it was more subdued.
In the end, no one did anything.
And they all kept doing the same thing.
Because it was easier. Because it was safer.
Because it was the only thing they know.
"RIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!"
Speak of the devil and he will appear. (Or call, in this case.)
---
"Alec": "I miss those times together."
Hazel: "Yeah." She paused. "I miss those times too."And that's probably the most genuine thing she ever told him.
---
The other side of the road stood one of the very famous Freddy's restaurants. Not any Freddy's. This one, was the one where she had spent her birthday 5 years in a row. She had grown to resent it and refused to return there. Even going so far as to never pass by it.
The place has closed up three years after the party. "Good riddance!" she had thought. Her family didn't give any care either, while Alec seemed more fond of it. But he still brushed it off just as quickly. Now it was just standing there, like a shell left behind on a beach. She wonders if there were still people going there. She had sometimes noticed lights emanating from it on the rare occasions when she caught herself staring at the building in the distance. It was probably some night guard. These places tend to attract teenagers or the most deprived. (Or unsavory people even.)
It could also have been some retrieval team too. She did see peoples taking out an old large dumpster from there one day.
---
She couldn't stop this feeling. The feeling of being.... observed.
She took a look behind her shoulder, but didn't see anything. She started scanning her surroundings. Nothing.
She then inspects every corner of her apartment.
Again, nothing.
No matter how much she looked, she found nothing that could indicate the presence of anything. Or anyone.
But she could feel it. Something was there. In fact, now that she thought about it, this feeling has been following her all day.
In public, it is quite natural to be observed, but now? In the comfort of her home? Alone?
No!
She couldn't ignore it more. Something was there. Something she couldn't see.
It was unnerving. Frightening.
"Hey!" She yelped, firmly. "Is someone there!?"
No answer.
Total silence.
"Am I actually screaming to myself here or what?" She thought.
She tries to relax and ignore it as she continues her routine. She put her things away, took a shower, change onto her pajamas and sit on her coach to watch tv with a bowl of ice cream.
During all that, the presence was still there. (Although, it had kept its distance while she was showering and changing. At least, her stalker had some decencies.)
After finishing her treat, she decided it was time to go to sleep. She turned off her tv, putted her bowl in the sink, brushed her teeth and fell down in her bed, exhausted. She sighed.
And then, she heard a chuckle.
She briskly lifts her head toward it.
Nothing.
She sighed again, but this time, more frustrated.

Hazel: "What's that?" She took the book.
"Alec": "Mm?"
Hazel: "You're not actually using these books on Patrick?"
"Alec": "Well, they worked with us."
Hazel: "Since when? These things have never brought any good to us. And you where fervently against it. You hated them."
"Alec": "Well, I change my mind."
Hazel: "You-... Seriously!?"
"Alec": "What does it change? Patrick is my son. I can educate him the way I want." 🙂
Hazel's thought: "Is he really acting like it's no biggies!?"
Hazel: "I think I have more knowledge on that matter than you."
"Alec": "You do not have kids."
Hazel: "I'm a teacher. I work with kids every day. That made me more qualified on how caring for a child than you."
"Alec": "Am I not qualified?"
Hazel: "I'm the teacher here! I deal with kids. While you..."
"Alec": "I..." 🤨
Hazel: "You're just a heartless lawyer."
"Alec": He snort. 😏
Hazel: "...You don't seem offended."
"Alec": "Should I? I am dealing with this kind of thing every day. It is nothing." 😏
Hazel: "Alec, I am your sister."
"Alec": "And?" 🤨
Hazel: "Me saying that to you should hurt you." It had hurt him before. She saw it. "Instead, you barely care about it."
"Alec": "I do not know what the point in this is."
Hazel: "Are you-" She took a breath. "How can you "educate" Patrick and be a father to him if you're unable to feel any care in it?"
"Alec": "...I fail to understand. I always cared."
Hazel: "That's the thing. You never cared. And I'm not the only one seeing that. Everyone does! Mom and dad! Gigi! Your wife! I'm surprised she still keeps dealing with you for so long!"
"Alec": "Hazel-"
Hazel: "Even Patrick see that! Your own son knows you don't care!"
"Alec": "Hazel-"
Hazel: "Everyone knows! And it has been this way since that stupid party!"
"Alec": "Hazel-"
Hazel: "You have been completely different since then! It's like my brother has been switches with someone else!"
"Alec": 😠 Stern look. "..."
Hazel: She looked at him, confuse about the face he was making. And then suddenly, everything clicks. "Who are you?"
"Alec": "You do not want to ask that."
Hazel: "Oh, nonononono. You're going to answer me. Who are you and what did you do to my brother!?"
[...]
Hazel: "You're not going to get away with this!"
"Alec": He huff. "And how are you going to do it? No one will believe you."
Hazel: She huffs. "Alec was way smarter than you." She goes to the door.
"Alec": He grabbed her. "If you think I am going to let you go like this-"
Hazel: "LET ME GO!" She kicks between his legs.
"Alec": "ARGH!" He lost his grip on her. She rushed out of the room and sprint toward the stairs.
"Alec": "HAZEL!"
Tamarah: She came in, standing down the stairs. "Is everything alright?"
Hazel: "Run, Tamie! He's crazy!"
"Alec": He rushed to them. "HAZEL! Get back here!" He tried to grab her.
Tamarah: "AAAH!" She yelped.
Hazel dodges him. And suddenly, he tipped over the guardrail, like someone was pushing him. Someone who couldn't be seen. Pushing him away from her.
He fell down the stairs.
A crack could be heard loud and clear.
Hazel putted her hands over her mouth.
A pure silence fell.
Her parents rush over.
Meg: "AAAHH!" She too putted a hand on her mouth.
Her father checked her brother's pulse.
Ian: "He's alive!" He straited up. "Call an ambulance!"
Tamarah: "Where's Patrick!?"
Gigi: "He's here! I'm calling 911!"
While the whole scene goes on, Hazel keeps standing there, staring. "Did I kill him? Is he going to die because of me?"She kept repeating and repeating in her mind.
---
"Alec": "Hazel?"
She couldn't look at his eyes.
Hazel: "Yeah?"
He started sobbing.
Wait. He's sobbing?
She listed her eyes. She saw something she had never expected to see again.
Her brother was crying. Pure, genuine tears. They felt... relieved?
Hazel: "Alec?" She walked closer. "Are you ok?"
Alec: "I'm sorry."
Hazel: What? "Sorry for what?"
Alec: "I'm sorry for being a bad brother. For being mean to you..." sob. "Whi-while you were j-just trying to be friend." sob "With me." He continues sobbing. "I'm sorry for ruining your birthday. I'm sorry for the whole Yarg Foxy."
Why is he apologizing for this? And he's now using contractions again. And that's when it clicks. The impostor had never cried. Never shown genuine emotions.
Never used contractions in his speech.
That wasn't the Boddy snatcher.
That was Alec.
The true Alec.
Her brother.
He was back.
Alec was back.
Hazel: Tears started rising in her eyes. "Alec?" He looked at her, silent. "Is that really you?"
Alec: "Y-ye-ess." Sob. "I don't know how, but it's me."
She jumped at him and hugged him tightly. He was stunted for a second but shared the hug with her.
It felt good.
This felt good.
And real.
