I personally love the idea of a Celtic addition to the Riordanverse with some Caveats.

It has become a trend in recent years to completely disrespect and disregard Celtic people when we tell you why your interpretation of a REAL LIVING CULTURE is wrong.

Welsh, Irish, Manx, Scottish, Cornish and Breton gods should be treated like the important people in our mythologies that they are.

One of my primary concerns lies within the fact that so many people can't tell the various celtic nations myths apart and so they think its okay to blend and mesh these completely seperate cultures together. Do not get me wrong, Celtic Nations are akin to sister nations but, we are not interchangable with eachother.

Every Celtic nation is beautiful, but we are not the same culture.

From my experience it seems to happen most with Irish, Welsh and Scottish mythologies but on a wider scale I am talking about all Celtic groups.

On the other end of things, You cannot call something a "Celtic" adaptation and only showcase one culture. That is not only greatly misleading to the point where some people now genuinely think Celtic refers solely to Irish. It is also just deeply disrespectful to these cultures that are some of the oldest in Europe.

Another thing that is sure to get us as Celtic readers upset is calling any aspects of our mythos English.

The erasure of Celtic culture by calling that aspect of said culture English or Anglo Saxon is especially prevalent in warfare and literature.

I bet you didn't know that the tales of the round table with Arthur and Merlin are actually Welsh in origin. I bet you didn't know before the forced annex of Wales into England that Wales were second in archery only to the mongols.

The reason I mention this is because it keeps happening. There is a difference between a written interpretation and literary colonisation. Everytime someone writes Celtic mythologies they never tend to stay faithful.

And heres the thing, I truly believe Riordan could totally write a book on Celtic mythology whilst being respectful.

I just need people to start calling it what it is, it will be an irish book. On irish myth. Irish myths are so cool i don't blame him for wanting to write that world. But we need to stop calling it Celtic when it only represents 1 of 6 living cultures.

The term Celtic represents all the six groups under it, we can all call ourselves Celtic and have it be true. However as a Welsh person, I cannot call myself Irish and have that be true.

As a society I just think this was something I needed to share.

This is more so to bring awareness to parts of all Celtic history that should be respected.
