❦ -- “If you let your sheep graze here, we might get our flocks mixed up.” Blue eyes turned towards the tailed creature, who had a flock so much larger than her master’s fifteen. She doubted the red paint on their ears would help distinguish Vígi’s from the strangers. Eyes took in fine embroidered linen and necklace on the red-haired girl, and decided she would not be one to treat badly. Maybe she could be of use in the future. “But come, sit.”
[ ϟ ]—– The moors held a serenity that would set the most restless souls at ease, and even for him, tempest ever-present in his core, it brought about a sense of pure calm he disliked disturbing.
‘ M’lady, I have but a small request, after which I will let you be.’ For a moment he regards the flock nearby, the ivory and white of the wollen coats resembling the clouds above. ‘ I trust you would be discreet on matters regarding our queen?’
[ that awkward moment when you get a whole lot of old drafts done only to realize 22/25 of them belong to @sceadugyden and her various other blogs. <3 everyone should go follow her and her other blogs ( x. x. x. x. ) because she spoils me rotten and i love her and all her muses so much! ]
“Don’t tell me you’re looking for my husband?” Nessa squinted at the approaching woman, wondering if it was another of her husband’s ‘contacts’ or if he was doing as she had suspected, and cheating on her. At least, she believed this until her eyes were able to focus on the vibrant hair. “Oh, no, forgive me, you must be Huldra, yes?” She was seated in an old rocking chair, legs covered by a thick blanket--Nessa was always prone to illness and so kept warm even in the sumer and spring months. “Fox has spoken of you--she’s not here.”
@hcldra liked THIS for a starter from a family member.
“Language, Loki. Children are present.” Huldra scolded, holding up one of the newborn lambs that she’d delivered only two weeks ago. “You don’t amaze, you annoy. The astonishing you make is at how filled of yourself you are.” Seemingly she was okay with her flock insulting, just not swearing. Of course, creating insults had brought out some of her troubles with at leastappearing fluent in the common tongue.
Loki glanced down at the lamb in her arms, raising a brow, but decided not to comment. She’d get mad at him, and he’d had enough of women mad at him for insulting their children. He did give her a wounded look, though. “Huldra! That hurts! It hurts that you don’t see how amazing I am!” He shook his head at her, looking honestly sad for her. “We must fix that.”
“--- I didn’t do it,” insisted Iðunn, though the mischievous glint in hazel
eyes rather belied that statement, however adamantly-spoken. Clearly, she
had been spending too much time around a certain trickster, allowing
herself to be influenced by that innate puckishness.
