It was a rare moment that Sunday and her sister weren’t at each other’s sides. They were all each other had now. They couldn’t exactly make normal friends. Plus, Wednesday tended to get herself into trouble, so the elder of the two had to get her out of some tough situations. As much as she didn’t mind looking out for her sister, every now and again, she needed a moment to herself. This was one of those times. The past few weeks had been stressful ones. Paris had been home for a long time, but they needed to settle somewhere new. While her twin had been hesitant to leave, Sunday had made the final decision for the two of them like she often did. Wednesday always made her choices with her heart. Sunday could be more detached, more logical. She could see that the longer they stayed in one place, the higher the risk of being discovered was. With a promise that they could return to Paris in a decade or so, she’d convinced Wednesday that this was for the best.
Traveling to find a new home was less than fun. There had been fake documents to worry about, aliases to get straight, and strict schedules that only began after sunset. Wednesday was helpful in the sense that few people tended the question them just out of sheer intimidation, but Sunday had been the one orchestrating everything behind the scenes. As always. People tended to think that she was the safer of the two twins, but in reality, she was far more dangerous. Not that she allowed anyone to know that. Better they not know who the real threat was. She could be more effective if she had to be that way. Still, she didn’t appear threatening in the least bit as she discarded the cup that’d held the tea she’d been sipping, tucked her book under her arm, and exited the coffee shop to make her way back to the hotel where her sister had agreed to wait so she could just have a few quiet hours to herself.
But Sunday didn’t make it far before her quiet evening turned into a potentially dangerous one. Less than a block away from the coffee shop, she paused as the scent of one of her own cut through the thick cloud of human that hung in the air. She had to keep from groaning outwardly. The last thing she needed was to deal with another vampire, especially if they decided to get territorial. Composed as always, she continued walking as the scent became stronger. They were getting closer. “I’m just passing through, no plans to stay in your territory.” She stated quietly, certain that whoever it was would be able to hear her if they wanted to and purposely refraining from using ‘we’. The presence of another could be seen as a threat, and she didn’t want to put her sister at risk. “I’m leaving tomorrow evening. If you want me gone sooner, ask nicely, and I’ll be happy to leave.”
