Watching the sunset over the ocean on the rooftop of the lighthouse was always such a divine experience, something Rose had desperately sought out when looking for a place to hide away until the others were ready to approach her first. A hidden terror wracked the now-revealed Pink Diamond, the thought of having broken all the ties she’d come to love and cherish with the gems and humans closest to her made her wary of being near anyone. What if something she said made the damage worse? Would they even want to listen, bother hearing her try to explain herself...?
She looked surprisingly vulnerable from her posture, her legs curled up and held close to her as she sat on the light house roof, a place that was nearly inaccessible to those who couldn’t fly up to its perch. Rose didn’t know how long she’d be here, whether it would be just for a day or weeks, it all would depend on what the others did really.
The sound of wings flapping were mistaken for a common seagull, but at the all too familiar hum of shape-shifting, Rose realized someone had found her. Who it was, she didn’t know, she didn’t turn her head to see, Rose could hardly bring herself to move so she waited to hear a voice speak to her first.
