“I would be lighting up like a bonfire if I wasn’t here, waltzing with you, Sir.” The surprise is clear in his eyes as she replies and as he smiles, it’s her turn to be surprised.

Thank you so much to @itsmarscosta who took this little gifset and story concept that I had posted, and turned it into a full multichapter. It’s only chapter but I’m already hooked... and I’m sure you will be too! I fully recommend you give this a read. William Shakespeare said, if music be the food of love, play on, but in this fic set by @typing123​, music truly is. She delivers a unique and incredibly touching take on the soulmate trope. Your soulmate can hear the songs you listen to or sing and vice versa. For Betty and Jughead, the road to love is affecting and bumpy, your heartstrings will inevitably be pulled in the best way — you won’t be able to help falling for them as they find their way to each other.

These fics are, in my opinion, a must read for any Bughead soulmate lover out there. Her take on Betty and Jughead is one of my favorites and the au is unique and refreshing. @typing123 very recently had a birthday, Happy Birthday, Jay!! Jughead Jones sings for no one. Not even in the shower, not even humming the tune to a song under his breath. Not even whistling. But he is now. Her favourite Christmas song. She wipes her face and looks outside. It's snowing, and little white crystals are forming on the window of the balcony. His voice is melodic and gentle, dated in that older, more sophisticated way that music was like back in the 50s. Like an old record or Christmas at your grandparents house. She lets the sadness lift off her shoulders and watches the snow and lights from the tree. She feels her breathing calm down, and the tear tracks dry on her face. The Grinch is slowly beginning to realise the meaning of Christmas, and Betty is too.

I was so moved by this fic that I had to take the opportunity to create something for it before Reindeer Games was over. It depicts Betty, Jughead, festivity, and love in a perfect balance. It will fill you with all the twinkling magic of the holidays and feelings warm enough to get you through the long winter. @typing123 has captured the essence of their love and what is really important at Christmas (and all year long). Sticky Sweet Serenade

But when heir Polly Cooper goes missing without a trace, her younger sister Betty turns to the only familiar face she can trust: Jughead Jones, Blue and Gold editor-in-chief and general outcast.

What would the story of Riverdale be if Great Grandaddy Cooper beat out the Blossoms and they owned the maple syrup trade in Riverdale instead of the Blossoms?

I didn’t bother to ask how or why she had chosen me as the recipient of her generosity. In Kindergarten, crayons are the currency and she had just gifted me a solid gold bar. Glitter, metallic, shades of greens my eyes have never seen before, but none quite as pretty as I would have described hers to be. A wave of something difficult to place washed over me, followed quickly by gratitude. For reasons I can’t explain to this day, I leaned forward and kissed Betty Cooper on the cheek. She turned about as red as her sneakers. I ran off laughing before she could catch me.

The butterfly I gave her at lunch was far from the last gift she would get from me. Filled with a childish determination to use every color in that 100 piece rainbow set she’d given me, each day I ripped out another sheet from the small stack of coloring books tucked away under Miss Jennifer’s desk and presented it to her once the lines were neatly filled in. Satisfied with my offering, she would take them home to be locked up tightly along with whatever other ghosts haunted the expansive halls of the Cooper mansion: Thornhill.

@tory-b has really out done herself on this one. She has perfectly captured Jughead’s narrators voice, his writers voice, the one we have all grown to love on Riverdale. This is an AU that she has carefully crafted with a stellar Jughead, a friendship since childhood, and a Betty with a beautiful character growth arc that explores what might have happened if she were the heir to the Blossom fortune. If you love quality characterization, a well thought out story, and angst and romance in equal parts - this is the story for you. Don’t miss it!

A pre-canon Valentine's Day AU.

Of course, she thought as she rubbed angrily at her shin; she shouldn’t have been at all surprised Jughead would give her a funny look if she walked into the classroom wearing feathered wings, not when Jughead had spent a solid fifteen minutes at Pop’s last week railing against corporatism and fake holidays and the rip-off that was the American greeting card industry.

(“The only good thing about Valentine’s Day is February fifteenth,” he’d said, banging the end of his spoon on the table; a little drop of coffee flew from it and landed on Betty’s French fries.

“What’s so great about the fifteenth?” Archie asked, brow furrowed in confusion, like they hadn’t had this conversation for the last four years at least.

“That’s the day the candy goes on sale.”)

Jughead’s lips parted slightly, like he might have something he wanted to say, but then their teacher cleared her throat to signal the start of class, and he merely hung the wings from the back of her chair and sat down at his own desk again.

I read this fic last night and it completely ran away with me and my extra. I couldn’t help but make it an aesthetic, I loved it that much. @stillscape​ has an impressive ability to deliver a stunning layered cast of characters, gripping dialogue, and a scene so engaging that I was able to picture this entire story playing out in my head. Every moment and word fit perfectly together like a puzzle that only this impeccable author could create. Read this, as soon as possible, and prepare to feel all the feels while throwing hearteyes everywhere.

Lemon Drops and Chocolate Chips

There's nothing quite like biting into a warm, goey brownie. You have to be patient, after pulling it from the oven, so that you don't get burnt. But that first bite after it's cooled just enough, makes you want the whole pan.

Jughead moves in across the hall from Betty, and she finds herself falling for him a little bit more each day.

Jughead was already spooning a bite of both brownie and ice-cream into his mouth. He moaned around the spoon, pulling it out clean and pointing it at her. “Will you marry me?”

Betty laughed, hands clutching her chest. It faded into a giggle and she tilted her head at him. He was smirking around another bite. “It's literally just a boxed brownie mix, Jug. I'm sure you could make it the exact same,” she took a bit of her own, chewing the warm brownie, chocolate melting on her tongue and filling her belly with warmth.

He shook his head her though, eyes filled with mirth. “That's where you're wrong, Betty. I would have to have a baking pan, and eggs, and oil. And I would have to want to make them.”

Rolling her eyes, Betty licked the bite of ice-cream from her spoon. Her eyes watching Jughead's fixed gaze on her lips. “It's really easy though.”

“It's really easy when I can come over here and just eat yours.”

She pointed her spoon at him. “You're pretty lucky your shower ‘broke’ then, huh?”

Everything @lilibug--xx writes is brilliant, beautiful, engaging. Reading this fic will make you simultaneously warm and fuzzy, completely head over heels for these characters, and agonizingly hungry all at the same time. Kayla manages to write all the senses and feelings, every single one of them. March 4th is Kayla’s birthday, Happy Birthday, beautiful!!! I wish I could bake her a whole slew of chocolate chip and lemon cookies, but distance is really putting a damper on my plans grand dessert plans. Instead, I made an aesthetic for her even more delicious story. Thank you so much for being a creator of infinite talent, but more importantly (to me) for being one of my closest friends. My life is fuller with Kayla in it. Fandom is blessed to have her in our midst. We’ll be here for her every creation!

Flower Girl

When most of the University students head home for Spring break, Jughead is tending bar. That's when Betty Cooper walks in, soaking wet and seeking advice.

He spends the rest of the night regretting that he didn’t ask for her number, or even just any way to reach her. He figures that if he is meant to see her again this spring break, fate will find a way to throw them in each other’s path, once more.

So, imagine Jughead’s complete and utter surprise when he unlocks the door to his apartment that night to find her sitting inside. Maybe fate works a lot faster than he expected.

This is one of my favorite fandom fluff pieces. It is a tropefest, in all the wonderfully right ways. I loved this story from the first line. “She always drew flowers in the corner of her notebook pages when she got bored during lectures.” I was hooked. @mogitz is a master at painting pictures for your mind. Every page I read plays out like a movie in my head. When I set to work on an aesthetic board for this fic, it really tripped me out. She had done such a superb job of creating the world of this story in my mind, that I couldn’t compromise when it came to trying to convey that into a visual graphic. This story has everything you want out of a Bughead fluff piece, characters, story, feelings, warm and fuzzies, laughter - @mogitz  delivers. I can’t wait to see where she takes us!
