The thing I find fascinating about the TSITP love triangle fandom is that it's not about a triangle. It's about "which brother is best". And I don't mean for Belly (god I hate that it's spelled that way. Why couldn't it have been Bellie or something cute like that?). Belly doesn't really enter the equation. Oh, she's there as a variable. But that variable cancels itself out when compared to the other side.
I come from The Great Riverdale Shipwars. I've seen carnage when it comes to Varchie vs Barchie, Choni vs Kangs, Bughead vs... everybody. I thought I was safe with my ship (Jeronica - not "Vughead") until they became canon and holy hell. You think you're prepared... But, I digress. This "shipwar" between Bellyjere/Jelly and Bonrad/Celly (I don't know Conrad's ship name) doesn't exist. Like I said above, Belly doesn't exist in it. It's become Jeremiah supporters vs Conrad supporters. And that's okay, just call it what it is!
For example lets look at this most recent episode: Jeremiah is stuck at work. He actually does something really good for his dad's company. But he's a villain because "don't you know he promised to go to Michael's with Belly for a 20% off sale?? (That's how you know the writers aren't crafters. Only 20%? That's child's play.) If it was Conrad being stuck at work it would be all "But people need him!" and "It's just Michael's. There'll be another sale."
And the narration is all about how Conrad can't live without Belly. And how he fucked it up. But if this was Jeremiah speaking, then Conrad supporters would be "he's a fucking creep! It's obvious she doesn't want you! Back off dude!" (Because, news flash, it isn't romantic. It's creepy af. This doesn't make him endearing it makes him a stalker.)
When it comes to Conrad, his fans do everything to find the positive. When Conrad supporters take all of the criticism they put towards Jeremiah it all of a sudden is "acceptable". THAT'S how you know your support isn't for a ship, it's for one person. And THAT'S how you know your criticisms aren't valid. Because if you apply it to one, you have to apply it to the other. Or, you're just being hypocritical.
And once again, Belly is her own villain, and Laurel is responsible for making sure she has a relationship with Belly (not Belly or Jeremiah), and neither brother should "win" her heart. She needs to go to Paris and leave both brothers behind.
they will NOT get along guys I need better babysitters
