     There’s a heavy, exasperated sigh before eyes flicked to his opposite. 

     “Just because you don’t like him doesn’t mean you have to butt your head into other people’s spaces and ruin what they’ve got.” Truly, Miles Shut. Ears turned to face outward. Annoyance, plain and simple. And those free-flowing swishes of the tails? Gone in an instant. Head tilted, an eye rose as the other fell, and hands balled on hips. Here we go with this nonsense. 

     “If you’ve honed your sweet, precious potential over in the great and transcendent Eggman Land, then you’ll know you’re wasting your time. --Or heck, maybe you won’t. Apple mustn’t fall too far from the tree in a situation like that...” One last sneer before attention went back to concept brainstorming, pencil returning to a notebook. “Long session of bickering short? I’m happy with where I am right now. So take your sorry excuse for sympathy somewhere else. I can’t think with a jerk talkin’ my ear off.”

It’s a familiar sentiment. Throwing yourself into the line of danger for someone else? It strikes him as...well, something he would do, honestly. But Tails didn’t deserve something like that. The little dude was a natural with so many things, and Sonic wanted to see him grow and cultivate the things that made him happy about himself. And it breaks his heart to see that being shoved aside for a perceived loyalty he had to maintain.

“Nah. Nuh-uh. No way, little man. I’m sorry, but I can’t just leave ya’ hangin’ like this...I know y’don’t wanna split on old Buckethead, and I get it...but don’t give up on me just like that. We can figure somethin’ out, right?”

“You’re like, the smartest dude I know. And if whatever you come up with needs some manpower behind it? I know just the Hedgehog for the job.”

Despite his persistence, the self-proclaimed master of love could see right through him. Friends they might currently be, the rosette hedgehog could see that the younger kit yearned to be just a little more with his crush. Amy gave the other a soft smile with a pat on the back. 

❝ Just friends, hmmm? ❞ She lightly teased the other.  ❝ There’s no need to be so shy, crushes just happen sometimes. ❞ While she’d normally dive headfirst into advisory assault, she could tell Tails required more patience than her older friends; Patience she was willing to give.  ❝ Cosmo is SUCH a sweetheart... I think she’d be a good match for you, too! Have you considered telling her how you feel? ❞

@hcrofraid​ : Tails pulls away, looking at the stars ( THEY'RE SO PRETTY; HE COULD GET LOST IN THEM FOREVER ). His hand sits on the telescope until he blinks, looking in the seedrian's direction. He smiles sheepishly, taking a step back as he gestures toward the viewing device. ❝ Sorry, did you wanna' give it a try? ❞ / 𝗴𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀 & 𝗶 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘂. /  accepting!

“ oh, thank you very much !  i would love to, ”  she spoke in a soft tone, her attention turns to the telescope.  she hums a gentle tone as her smile grows more warmer.  something about this was just  CALMING  to her ; not just the stars. cosmo couldn’t exactly pinpoint how she felt, but she knew without a doubt, this was a GOOD feeling. (  if only this could last forever; she thought to herself. )  she glances back at tails idly,  “ ...do you ever wonder what kind of stories lie on those stars... ? ”

   Well this is a little unprecedented. It wasn’t every day that an unfamiliar hedgehog was found wandering around the Doctor’s base, peering curiously into the labyrinth of rooms and hallways within the infrastructure. 

   She’d found herself drawn to one room in particular--- the contraptions littered about the place catching her attention relatively quick as she took note of how... different, they were, compared to the likes of her cousin. It left her rather curious as to who’d built them, wanting to reach out and touch them but deciding against it as she knew she shouldn’t without permission. Heck--- she probably shouldn’t even be in this room right now, but she just couldn’t help herself. It was only then when she heard footsteps, and a throat being cleared did she realize she wasn’t alone, snapping out of her stupor to turn and look at the young fox with a start.

   --- ?

   “ Oh, pardon me. I didn’t see you there. Good afternoon ! ”

"There you guys are! I heard you got the day off," a giddy whisper from around the door as a grinning kit looks at them. "You wanna' play video games?"

            If you didn’t think Cubot’s tail could go that fast, then you clearly hadn’t spent that much time around the big lug. His optics shone so bright, big stars lighting up inside them.

         “REALLY???? VIDEO GAMES???? YEAH!!!!! WE NEVER GET T’PLAY VIDEO GAMES!!!!”

          Orbot flopped over onto his side, clearly scratching his backside, “Can I just watch and make peanut-gallery comments whenever either of you falls in a pit? Or, whatever kind of game you’re playing.”
