It was hard not to laugh as she tried to keep pace with Leo as he tugged her towards the park. Really he wasn't going that fast but his legs were so short Ivy really was having trouble making sure she didn't trip over him. "Leo the slide isn't going to go anywhere we don't have to run." Finally they reached the crosswalk and she scooped him into her arms before waiting to cross. Even with this being a fun part of her day she wasn't sure that it would go as well as she hoped. Her conversation with Noah hadn't gone well the night before and the last thing she wanted was for this to turn into an in person breakup because it wasn’t good enough over text. But he was the one that said the time wasn’t right for them. As soon as they were through the gate for the playground Leo was fighting to get out of her arms and she put him down. Once he was on the ground the little boy took off for the slide causing the redhead to laugh but it faded as she saw Noah walking towards the playground but she did keep a slight smile in place.

landon’s a bit put off when maite shows up at his door completely drenched in rain from head to toe, which isn’t that difficult considering how small she is. and because she’s maite vasquez, she had no problem pushing landon out of her way as he chuckled and making a home out of his apartment, rushing right toward one of his bathrooms to freshen up. the thing is, landon has no idea why maite was there in the first place, aside from the fact she needed to dry off, because the two hadn’t talked in the last three days and he knows that they hadn’t talked about her dropping by. was she in the neighborhood? was she planning on dropping by unexpectedly? these were questions he wanted answers to, but he wasn’t going to waste his breath on it. “are you done in there yet?” landon asks impatiently, figuring she was in the bathroom attached to his bedroom so he makes his way in there, stopping immediately in the doorway when he catches maite’s reflection in the mirror. he’s not sure if it was alright for him to walk in, despite her having the door wide open and in the bathroom rather than his actual bedroom, however, she also didn’t respond back to him so he’s a bit stuck. and by stuck, he couldn’t stop staring at maite wearing his shirt. he’s positive that’s his shirt -- his favorite shirt to be exact. he’s also pretty positive that’s all she’s wearing, can see her shirt and jeans tossed carelessly over his bed. she doesn’t notice him yet, too focused on getting her hair dry, and that buys landon some time to really look at her. he doesn’t understand what the fuck she has over him. he went through the majority of his life so far completely alone and now -- now he’s just fucked. he wants her around all the time and now he wants to see her in more than just his favorite shirt. he wants this to be a regular thing. wants her coming home after a long day and making home of his apartment, walking around like she owns the plans and slipping into his shirts that were way too big for her. he’s practically frozen when she turns around and catches him staring, his eyes wide as they meet up with her. “i can’t believe you took my shirt without asking. you’re lucky i don’t get you out.”

Edie’s back. Slightly worse for wear, more than a little bit jetlagged but she’s back on familiar soil and this is the first stop she’s making. The emotional toll that everything has taken on her isn’t necessarily plain to see but she knows Jay will notice. Even underneath the carefully applied makeup and the overly cautious way in which she’s carrying herself. Right now, standing at his door she’s more than slightly anxious. The door opens and she’s momentarily unable to speak. When her mental fog clears she shifts her weight nervously and attempts to break the silence. “I...hi. Hi is a good place to start. Hi...and I’m back. Literally just got back...and I just, I don’t know, I just wanted to see you. Also, merry Christmas. Well merry belated Christmas, if that’s something people still say, my bags got missing in transit but the airline assures me that they’re well on their way...and when they do eventually get here, so will your present...but the main point here is...hi and I’m going to stop talking now.”
