she’s still looking through notecards , quizzing herself silently as her fingers weave through bael’s hair , massaging his scalp gently while she gets ( almost ) every question correct. only when her stack of notecards is read through does she look down , letting a soft smile spread on her bare lips. her heart flutters at the sight of the sleeping boy and she wants to lean down and give him a kiss – except , that might make him wake up. 

her fingers reach up to take off her glasses , the ugly ones she only wears around him and for a brief second in her fairy-light lit room , she’s content. her mind wanders , wondering about a life where she’s not hiding how much she likes the cigarette smoking guy who’s the opposite of her , wondering if it’s easier or if it’s better. she leans back against her wall relaxed , playing with his hair and content with the situation.
