[ full to bursting ]
UNDISCLOSED RESTAURANT — [ EARLY JAN. '23 ] Jamie and ROBBY HAN get dinner together …
"Oh my god, you have got to try this." Jamie moans, words muffled by his mouthful of meat and ramen noodles. He lifts some with his chopsticks and grabs Robby's smaller plate to plop the food down on it for him. He's always liked watching his little brother eat, even when they were little, when their level of messiness was a little more equal. There's something about knowing his baby brother's well-fed that satisfies him and his somewhat protective nature in regards to Robby. That protectiveness rarely shows up, and some might think Jamie isn't protective at all, but there are times, and situations, where he very much is.
Ever since Robby had joined Jamie as a trainee he'd felt conflicted about things much more. The last time Jamie had been around Robby this much Robby had been only fifteen. He'd been a baby in Jamie's eyes, and he'd not had to worry about certain things that he now was very quickly realising he had to look out for. Things like boys. Despite not being physically with Robby for a few years, he'd talked to him a lot, and kept updated on the goings on in his life, and Robby had liked boys before Jamie left, but now... now boys were an imminent danger. Something Jamie had to be consistently worried about. He knew Robby could handle himself, and that he was no different to other boys his age, but it didn't make him feel any better about it. "So, how's the evaluation going? Not to sound like your big brother, but if anyone's giving you a hard time, let me know." Then, after a pause, serious expression fixed to his face, he laughs, and breaks into a grin. "I'm only joking, I know you can handle yourself better than I can."
As he takes a moment to shovel more food into his mouth, ignoring the feeling of the soup splashing onto his cheeks and chin, in favour of devouring as much food in one bite as possible. Then, licking his lips and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, he leans back and sighs happily. "I swear, this shit is fire." They'd not been out to eat together for a while now, and to reign in the new year, they'd thought it only right to go out for a huge meal and catch up. "I, uh, heard you and Mason got into a bit of an argument." It's not something he particularly likes bringing up, when the mood is so good, but Mason, being his best friend, and Robby, his baby brother, having issues was something he needed to help smooth out—he couldn't have them feuding, it would break his heart.
