Harry Potter liked a lot of things about his Auror partner; the way his blond hair always fell in his face, forcing him to huff the strands away; the way he pursed his lips as he focused on the task at hand; the way he agreed that living together would be much easier than coming to the office separately everyday, now that they were friends. He liked Draco enough to want something more than their Auror partnership slash roommates situation, but Draco was always seeing (or doing) someone else. But when things get serious, and Draco ends up in a committed relationship with a near-perfect bloke from the States, will Harry ever get a chance to confess his true feelings? To tell him that he could never love Draco the way Harry does?

Notes: I wrote this for @hd-wireless , it was inspired by a rewatch of the third “Purge” film as well as a marvelous fucking Deftones (!!!) prompt from @dracohasmycat . As you might know by now, metal and horror make that creative juice flow!
Summary: In which socialite party boy Draco Malfoy, son of notorious businessman Lucius Malfoy, finds himself confined to house arrest in the States just in time for the annual Purge, an American tradition that legalizes all crime for 12 hours. Not that Draco can actually *do* anything on Purge Night but wither away in his apartment, drinking expensive alcohol as he slowly dies of boredom. Fortunately for him--or perhaps unfortunately--Draco's old schoolmate, secret crush, and current bodyguard, Harry Potter, will be there to keep him safe from Purge Night heathens, or worse—ennui.
We might’ve kicked up our heels for a bit but now we’re starting down the runway towards August, folks. This means business.

For fics, there is a minimum word count of 1000 words and no maximum.
All fics must be beta-read (If you are unable to find a beta please let us know).
Submissions must be completed works, and all fics must be beta-read. As this is an anonymous fest, all creations must be individual works, and cannot be part of a series, or a prequel/sequel to an existing work.
Fics and art should use the song prompt in some way, but this is very fluid, so feel free to interpret it in your own creative way.
❗However, please be aware that AO3’s Terms of Service only allow for ‘short quotations’ from copyrighted materials. For this reason we ask that you be mindful about your usage of lyrics in your creation. For more information, and for links to further information, please see our previous post on the issue HERE ❗
We encourage you to be inspired by the prompters additional details, but these are not required to be incorporated into the creation. You may also wish to take into consideration your prompter squicks when creating, but this is not a requirement — but we ask that you do not gift the creation to the prompter if you are not taking the squicks into consideration, and as always, be sure to tag your work appropriately.
This fest employs a mixture of both anonymous and non-anonymous posting for creations.

We ask that you do not respond to comments on your creations until after reveals. This is to ensure that you do not identify yourself in your response. Additionally, responding after reveals can be a lovely way for the commenter to find out who created the work they loved so much!
While we hope that it will not happen, sometimes creations receive negative comments. If you receive a nasty or critical comment, please contact the mods via email asap. We have a process for handling these events, but will work with you to do so, so that you are included in every step, if you wish to be — or excluded from this, if that is your wish.
