A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas: What are your plans for Christmas Day this year?

Wine glasses clicking as the clock announced the arrival of the bewitching hour, presents being exchanged in a rather astonished revelations of wheres and whens inquires, light and familiar smiles decorating luscious lips the most virtuous manifestation of fondness, traditions that were celebrated for years too long and that were no longer applicable to this particular year.

Father would spent Christmas in one of the police social gatherings, as expected of the captain, his son would claim the duty shift for the eve night yet again in order to escape the inner demons that haunted his core at the slightest signal of familiar reunion, the sea separated Ara from her closest relatives, not that they ever spent a Christmas together in three years.

And for the first time in twenty two years, the brunette was alone in this particular holiday, it tasted bittersweet as for how she bid goodbye to the one person that was hold so highly close to her heart, a sisterly figure, not too long ago shattered every possible already formulated plan of gathering company for the holidays, and for all the 364 days that would follow it. Solitute is greedy, and not exactly a reliable friend.

“I don’t have one,  it’s probably time to elaborate new traditions” would be the response she would offer to this particular inquire, shoulders being shrugged elegantly as a faint ghost of a plastic small smile decorated her reddish lips.

Victoria gave a nod, resting her hand on top of his.  ”Of course it will.”  

It was the first time she had seen him like that.  His eyes had turned darker, refusing to look up and meet hers.  She couldn’t begin to imagine what kind of demons were haunting him.  She was not there to psychoanalyze or diagnose or anything related to work.  No, she was there to offer her support to someone who genuinely needed it, not as a professional but as a friend.

"What is it?"

"Remember when I jokingly said I used to be an agent for the NIS, and we shared a good laugh about it?" He continued, his eyes moving from the table to pierce into her gaze. "What if I told you there are cases where the the truth is stranger than fiction?"

He blinked, digesting the words in his mind before he spoke once again. “A family friend was taken just earlier in the day.” He said, eyes moving to the her hand over his. “Questionable things will be done to secure her safety, or rather things had already been done. I can’t go to the police, it’d probably be too late and…” Hesitation sunk in, a heavy silence followed as a battle against demons displayed in his eyes.

"How do you stop demons of your past from consuming you?" He breathed, his question soft but audible. His eyes locked back to her. "There are certain things that I need to do, yet I’m afraid it’d drag me back into the dark murky bottom which I came from… Any advice?" He ended with a smile that doesn’t reach his eyes.

"Have you ever even done this before?"

The petite girl diverted her gaze towards an uninteresting spot on the older woman’s apartment wall in a silent response to the words that echoed in the soft, though incredulous tone, as her delicate hands traveled the entire length of her own chocolate colored hair in a mechanical gesture that always seem to indicate her embarrassment or hesitation. When the elder first inquired for Ara’s aid in order to assist her reviewing her script lines, the younger had been more than thrilled to come to her rescue.

Forgetting in the main course, that she hasn’t done a single play even during her school years, however, she kept on silently reminding herself that it couldn’t be that much of a bad experience, and once again, her stubbornness had proved her wrong.

                                            People said her temper would cause her downfall,                                     though Ara’s currently placing all cards in her stubbornness.

“Actually no, I’ve never done anything slightly theatrical in my entire life.” She confessed in a soft murmur, not quite happy in sharing – or confirming – that information out loud. “I hope I’m not bothering or making it worst for you though, unnie! I can stick to listening your presentation rather than stoic attempting to act along if you’d like.” The youngest nodded her head, flashing the other a ghost of a small and apologetic smile. “I’m sorry for not being that much of a help, though!”

"Don’t look at me like that."

Minister Jaerim had a terrible habit of allowing his mind to wander. Spending most of his days doing God’s work and conducting sermons and listening to confessions could sometimes get tedious, and he preferred walking around and discovering this wonderful new city to shake off lethargy.

Sometimes he thought of cats, and wondered what it was about him that they disliked; no other creature seemed to have such an adverse reaction to his mere presence than felines. Which was a shame, really, since he thought they were absolutely precious – or would be, if they didn’t seem so intent on clawing at whatever part of himself they could find.

So lost he was in his musings that he didn’t realise he’d been staring at someone. Specifically, frowning at them as he drank from the smoothie in his hands. Their statement made him blink out of his thoughts, coupled with a soft “eh?”.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” he apologised quickly, adding a bashful smile to the mix in order to convey that he truly did not hold any ill intent towards her. The subject of cats still nagged the back of his mind, but for now he realised that he truly shouldn’t allow himself to be in such a daze, especially in public places. He couldn’t consciously control the expressions he made at his own thoughts, after all. “I meant no offense! I was simply thinking about…cats.”

I collect anything and everything to do with Pokemon! Also anime figurines, plushies, video games, comics... too much stuff, acutally.

23.) What’s the worst place you have ever been to?

Uhh... I don't think I actually have one. The United States was okay, though I did miss my friend. So, I guess a place without him isn't one I'm terribly fond of.

being a childish sort, sungyeol sticks to chicken and stars and nothing else.

one probably shouldn't trust sungyeol with either of these tasks, but maybe it'd be safer for him to wrap presents rather than to do anything with a knife (no promise that they'll come out nice looking though).

pokemon: the first movie. even talking about is enough to bring tears to sungyeol's eyes.
