okay but connor saying that in this scene
he didn't play it as ilya deliberately not answering the question and instead just as ilya who was pleased by shane caring enough to ask it and thus pulling him into a cuddle without answering because his only thought was, "oh, he cares enough to ask about my family"
makes me laugh imagining it being an ongoing thing between them in the early days of shane asking a personal question in passing and ilya being so pleased by the curiosity that he doesn't always. actually remember. to answer.
which means shane has a google search history that sometimes looks like
russia asking about family rude
don't ask about family russia
rude to talk about family in russia
rules for conversation russia family personal
becAUSE ILYA DOESN'T SEEM MAD?? BUT ALSO HE JUST??? LEFT HIM ON READ?? BUT IN A REAL LIVE CONVERSATION??? WHAT THE FUCK???
finally shane settles into their relationship enough to be like *deep breath* "can we talk about something that i think might be hard?"
and ilya is just *internally sweating because oh god this sounds so fucking serious and-* "yes, of course"
"okay" *deep breath that just makes ilya even more tense in preparation for the worst case scenario of shane breaking this off or delivering other bad news* "why do you sometimes just not answer when i ask you questions?"
"...why do i do what?"
thinking about Ilya self soothing here because he wants to be there for Shane right now but he has to be terrified that this could make Shane pull back from him and from them even though they're making all of these plans and they love each other
he hears Shane say that it's his worst fucking nightmare and Ilya can't help but blame himself for it and he's wondering if maybe Shane will blame him for it too
and he's so afraid that he's about to lose Shane just like he's lost everything else
That video where the woman says her boyfriend is about to talk about his nerdy collection except it's Eddie talking to Corroded Coffin before Steve comes to one of their practices/hang outs saying, "Listen up, my boyfriend is coming tonight and he's probably going to make some sports references you don't understand and you better be nice to him or you'll have to start drafting up new characters for Hellfire."
The whole time Steve is talking to them, Eddie is stood slightly behind him giving them a warning glare. And everytime he excitedly brings up something they aren't familiar with, Eddie makes a threatening gesture, such as mouthing 'your character' and dragging a finger across his throat.
SecUnit meeting Gurathin: IDK he seems a bit isolated and withdrawn but the rest of them seem to like him
SecUnit getting to know Gurathin: He's infuriating. He accused me of being a danger to my clients. He doesn't like my favourite TV show. He keeps being right about where plans were going to go wrong (rude), and pointing out when I'm doing something reckless (even more rude, I already know I'm being reckless, fuck off). He's my client and if you touch him I'll rip your fingers off. I'm sending him a silly video of me pretending to be human but only because he asked and I need to hold the moral high ground. designation: I don't like him.
Other people meeting SecUnit and Gurathin: IDK he seems a bit isolated and withdrawn but SecUnit seems to like him.
Post-drug dealer Eddie who decides to try his hand at being a private investigator. It's kind of the same skill set, right? Being discreet, being able to read people, toeing the line of morality? Why not give it a go?
His first target is named Steve Harrington and the guy who hired him made him out to be the devil incarnate. Some back stabbing, cheating son of a bitch who's into some shady shit. Eddie would have backed out, but the guy was willing to pay a lot of money and the van wasn't goig to fix itself...and maybe he was eyeing that original pressing of Kill Them All at the record store down the street, sue him.
Unfortunately for him, this Steve guy seems painfully normal. He watches him from a disatance, camera full of nothing but pictures of Steve going to his job at the Y. Going to the library to pick up his friend. Sitting alone on a bench with an ice cream. Dropping the ice cream on his shoes and looking so defeated. Petting a cat under the chin.
The guy is actually kind of pathetic, if Eddie was being honest. He has like two friends and never stays out past nine PM.
He's also really fucking hot.
He keeps bringing the same kind of stuff to his client, all but begging him to please let Eddie drop the case, but he just keeps throwing money at him and Eddie is a sucker for cold, hard cash. It's just getting kind of awkward because, well, he may or may not be falling ass over tits for this very sad, very beautiful man he's been stalking.
Yikes.
his change in career has captivated me
